How to conect to open WiFi?

Very often it's not possible anymore to connect to open or publi wifi? After conntecting to the wifi you normally need admit the open wifi guidline and access. For me it's not possible anymore to get linked to this side via the browser. In the past I the webapp Cryptocurrencie Prices. After connecting to the open wifi and starting the app, I was directly linked to entry page for the open wifi. But this doesn't work anymore.
Is there another workaround? Any hint?thanks for helping

I think it has been mentioned on this forum before but as long as you try to access any insecure (non SSL) site - you can make the url up e.g. http://access.tld - then the hotspot should redirect you to its login page. It will not work for Google (on the majority of hotspots) because it is a https page and redirecting that is not something you want to see happen hence why it is not common and hotspots don't do it.

And to add to my point, as long as you are connected but not through the login page you are basically offline - there is no traffic going out. So ok, even http://google.com could work but your browser will likely have that cached and will automatically go to https://google.com. So the key here is to try to access some page which is insecure or make up the domain so that it is not something your browser has cached.

I think every other system detects these captive portals and opens the login page automatically. From the messages here I understand that UT doesn't have this feature.. Anybody know whether there is an open issue for this?

This is due to the "https" secured protocol.
When connected to an open public WiFi network, just open Morph browser and open this website: http://neverssl.com
You will be directly rerouted to the web page of the web provider to activate your connection.
Tip: You can create a webapp with Webber with this website that you can rename "Public WiFi" and just click on it after you did connect to the WiFi. Just ensure you activate the "URL" bar when you create the webapp....

Well for me it's safe to use google because I never use it really.
so once connected and being on the landing page at the airport, I just close the tab, so no connection to google at all.
But I like the solution proposed by Kugiigi, it didn't work for me in a hotel, but I was able to find the local IP address used by the router and that worked.
