What are folks experience of UT on a Fairphone 4?
-
Hi.
Can ye give some pros and cons and an overall rating out of 10 if you have been using UT for at least a few weeks on a FP4?
Thanks.

@Opolork Works really well for me and very stable on 20.04. Very good as a daily phone. From my usage only the 3a comes close on 20.04, but the 3a is a lot older now. Normal UT glitches and qwerks apply but location works well for me calls and text are reliable and solid subject to network.

Hi @Lakotaubp. Thanks for the info.

I think, the Fairphone 4 is currently the only phone that offers video output by USB-C, so you can connect a USB-C-to-HDMI-adapter to use UT as a desktop system. The advantage is that you don't have any latency as on Pixel 3a (which I own) you have to go wireless and this leads to a small latency that you recognize when you move the mouse etc.
So my next plan is also to own a Fairphone 4

Interesting.

What are the weaknesses when using Fairphone 4 under Focal OTA-2 ?

@domubpkm
If I refer to device page I'd say waydroid ?

Aside from the size and the notch, I really like the Fairphone 4. It's very solid on the hand and doesn't feel fragile or slippery. Its performance is one of the best in UT too especially in focal. With the 6GB variant, the system may become less responsive if you use waydroid + some UT apps especially webapps/browsers.
Battery is also great. Without Waydroid and apps with background processes (i.e. Dekko and UBsync), it's basically similar to the old bq phones which has great battery life too.
As mentioned, it supports wired external display which can be fun to use though it's currently not stable and not really usable.
It's very expensive though so it depends if you're fine with that since there are other devices that may even perform better like the OnePlus devices.
