Thanks a lot.
The installation went without a hitch.
The camera works much better than in 20.04.
voLTE is still fully functional on my Redmi Note 9 Pro in Belgium with Orange.
There's still the known problem that prevents Bluetooth pairing with the car.
As for the rest, I'm happy to adopt it, the OS is superb!

Welcome!
I made this choice a year and a half ago and I have never regretted it.

RE: 24.04-2.x how does it work at this point for you ?
@Moem
Yes.
The 24.04-2.x release is well on track (in my opinion) and the 26.4-1.x release is already incredibly usable, provided you’re willing to accept the risk that comes with these being development versions, which may (and will) break from time to time to provide feedback to the developers.
If you need 99.99% reliability, it’s prudent to stick with the stable, tried-and-tested versions.
I’d like to take this opportunity to express my admiration for the quality of the work that’s been done. -
RE: Do you think you know Ubuntu Touch ?
@libremax
Extremely interesting.
Necessary information that I was missing...
Thank you for sharing, and a thousand thanks to Alfred and those who make this possible. -
RE: Ubuntu Touch Installation Guide for Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC / X3
@bad1080
Unfortunately, nothing is interchangeable with UT.
Basically, your phone, running a specific version of Android, has low-level drivers and a partition layout that are very specific to that device.
When UT is installed, the partition layout is modified from the original configuration, whilst the low-level drivers are retained. An intermediate layer between these Android drivers and UT is installed (Halium (9 or 10 or 11, etc.), which is also specific to your hardware.
Finally, UT is configured to communicate with this Halium layer.
Failure to adhere strictly to the prerequisites will, at best, result in a non-functional system; at worst, a phone that is permanently unusable.
(My apologies to purists for this oversimplified explanation) -

Hello.
Did you checked the usb parameters in System parameters? -
RE: This week in development (week 52 2024)
Hello.
I'm trying the 24.04 (r85) on my Redmi Note 9 Pro.
I had an issue while configuring the device.
I have plugged a usb keyboard and after using the top tool bar to change the keyboard layout to azerty belgium.
The system parameter has crashed after i choose this keyboard.
After this, i can't launch system parameters nor any app on the phone (terminal, camera, ...).
The screen pop up and close just after.
Wondering how to look at the log files...

RE: Bring to life this post explaining how to use gpx traces into Pure Maps
@kristatos
Oh fine for uNav. (good to know (available in the search context as I can see))
For hiking, I would prefer PureMaps and the OepnTopoMap map. -
Bring to life this post explaining how to use gpx traces into Pure Maps
I was camping in the woods this weekend and was able to use Pure Maps to follow the hiking routes I’d created on my computer.
For anyone who enjoys this sort of activity, it’s just brilliant!

RE: I've been using beta version 0.9 of Ubuntu Touch for 5 months now on the BraX3
@Lazarus2026
Mine is still on iodéOS.
Brax Tech’s shift in attitude from “we’ll take care of everything” to “this is what we can do; let the community continue the port” is a bit disappointing.
It’s still a great phone running AOSP, but as long as the port doesn’t support calls, I’ll stick with AOSP.
Wait (as I don't have skills to help the port at the moment) and see... -

Thanks for answering.
The package is called bzip but the command is bunzip2. -
RE: Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.3
@peat_psuwit
Hello Ratchanan.
Could you say me if bzip2 was present in earlier version of 24.04-1.x and has been removed in this one? (Some problems with OSM Scout Server users) -
RE: OSM Scout Server download maps error
@projectmoon
I have bunzip2 installed by mc but before that, osm was OK and bunzip2 was absent (in command line) -
RE: OSM Scout Server download maps error
@mihael
Just downloaded and no problem on my side.
