    • The state of Volla x23, for all users out there.

      Hi,

      So for me, Ubuntu Touch, nothing works. It's almost like a comedy how absolutely nothing works. Now this is not critique to UBports, nor Volla really. But the combination of them two, multiboot and first release of rom, is so confusing for me I can't figure out where to even start debugging UT.

      So all I want is to know if you have the same problems.

      This doesn't work for me.

      Waydroid helper.
      Waydroid init.
      Waydroid updater.
      Apt install anything, for example waydroid as remount, rw.
      Waydroid in libertine, nor anbox.
      Update channel, developer or candidate.

      And more, I can't do a thing accept these clickapps.

      Anyone else?

      @Lakotaubp

      Hi,

      Well I solved it by changing my sim card from slot 1 to slot 2. And now working again. I perhaps need to change back someday in all this magic. But good enough for me.

      To add,

      I can't do things that I seen in tutorials. Not necessarily waydroid, but terminal stuff.

      Came out harsh for some reason. But what I meant was, that I really hope to see something that works. Because I long for it!

      When I try to install waydroid with remounted root. I get this "...not enough space /var/cache/apt/archives". Its a clean install and plenty of space both for OS data and user Data.

      Must be a ordenary problem?

      On volla x23. OTA2 I guess.

      @arubislander

      Thanks for trying. I really think that the real problem is that Volla pushed the release and we need to wait for a propper update. And that UBports supports X23 soon enough. Because as it is now, nothing really works.

      @DPITTI

      and the topic got moved even though it was more about UT than Lineage...

      Anyway... Yes, in terms of exploits and hackers. Stock android might be more secure. But privacy and tracking is something else. And the real problem.

      @MrT10001

      yes

      Well I installed the app then let it install the kernel mods and then rebooted. Everything seems fine but as if the gui or some download process doesnt work. Not the installation itself.

    • Problem installing Snap Both therminal and Snapz0r ("squashfs": mount:)

      Hi, long time no see.

      Trying out Snaps now when Volla (X23) fixed its kernel to enable that (using multiboot). However, Snapz0r, even though seems to have made change to the kernel, it cant install anything. Just tries a short while and gives up.

      and via terminal. sudo snap install firefox for example. I just get that my system does not fully support Snaps.

      Is this all multibooting volla users? Or just me?

      20.04 ota4

      system does not fully support snapd:
      cannot mount squashfs image using
      "squashfs": mount:
      /tmp/syscheck-mountpoint-4184246003:
      wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock
      on /dev/loop3, missing codepage or helper
      program, or other error.

      The sad answer were no. It has USB C 2.0. And does not work to HDMI conversion.

      Thanks for answering as always.

      I been looking around on Github and found people having problems with volla. I also found people having problem with the specific screen. So now, I am going to do some work for you. Bought the USB hub. going to use my standard screen and have a go. I let you know!

      Cheers!

    • About external display (Hard to answer probably)

      Hello,

      I was thinking to connect an E-ink display, Boox Mira.

      https://shop.boox.com/products/mira

      But before I buy, I wonder if it is possible to connect to my Volla UT phone?

      It seems to be a pretty bad support from Boox, but at least some. But in general, does UT have problems with various external displays?

      (Also, going to but an USB/HDMI hub) https://www.proshop.se/Dockning/Natec-Fowler-docking-station-USB-C-HDMI/3133084

      That I assume work well with UT?

      yeah, lets call it HUD. that is also costumizable by the user. Its not a perfect solution. But its good enough.

      @kugiigi

      no, not an on screan keyboard. but similar. instead of using the webbrowsers interface for example, you have your own overlayed interface. Back, forward, home, new tab and so on. As they all got short-commands.

      Anyway. I guess its something I am going to look into myself.

    • Universal UI

      Hi,

      as I am not the best programmer, I still can offer interesting thoughts. And I was wondering. If we now have on screen keyboard pumping keys and shortcut. Why not have on screen Interface? meaning, you put firefox, chromium, falkon, brave or what ever browser you like. put it in fullscreen meaning no interface, to then enable an on screen UI with tabs and what not, pumping in commands to the browser. new tab, back one page and so forth. Isnt that a good app to help both libertine and snap? And all the glorious programs there is.

      Any thoughts?

      @arubislander

      Yes,

      I sort of meant the service of a whole, having everything in one app. But to the look of it,the hostility from all made it imposible.

      however. I still hope for a whatsapp update. its just the UI that got messed up resently. A pretty good separate app, but only for xenial still.
