Getting started with webapp dev
Hi Everyone,
I had an idea for a webapp that would launch Morph and take the user to one of the Yotter public instances. It seems like it would be a pretty easy thing to do, with the only issue being that I have never developed a webapp!
I was wondering if folks on here wouldn't mind pointing me to some resources to begin learning webapp development for UT? I have tons of experience writing data analysis and machine learning code in python, java, and c++ (though I'm not certain how much that carries over).
Anything like structuring webapp projects in general, webapp development best practices, and subjects specific to UT would be great to start reading.

RE: Wish list : which apps do you need?
One app that I use every day is an app that blocks access to other apps. In the google play store it is simply called Block Apps. Basically, it allows the user to set schedules of apps that are blocked from being used until that schedule ends. I think Block Apps makes it very difficult to gain access to these apps once they are blocked (i.e. can't gain access from power down or restart).
Naively, I think this would be straightforward. Almost like a cron job interface for UT. But I have no experience developing mobile apps. If people would find this type of app useful, I'd be willing to start learning how to develop it.

RE: Futify (spotify client) need beta testers
@manland I just submitted several issues gained from my experience using the app. In no way am I implying these things are missing and the app is bad. Quite the opposite. I wanted to give you as much feedback as I could so that the app succeeds! Thank you again for all your hardwork. I'll keep testing on my end.

Nitter RSS Feed
I was wondering if others were able to get a Nitter + RSS feed working to mimic a Twitter feed? I know there are Twitter apps in the OpenStore, but I was curious if others had tackled this particular usecase?
I did some quick searching and testing but wasn't able to come to a resolution. I also came across Yotter but haven't messed around with it much.

RE: Futify (spotify client) need beta testers
@manland Fantastic work! I have been looking for a good way to utilize spotify on UT and had been relying on running it in anbox. I'm happy to see this work is going on.
I was able to download and install Futify on my OPO. I've started using and testing it. I've been keeping a list of issues I come across. Some of them might be true issues (i.e. not all my playlists are loaded). Others might be more feature-request-like (ability to shuffle songs in playlist, repeat a single song in a playlist, continuous loop of songs in a playlist).
Would you prefer I submit these in a single issue on gitlab or open them up separately?
Thanks again for your hard work. I am really excited about this app!

@hummlbach Sorry, I can definitely see Axolotl. I was anticipating an app called Signal. Thanks for the tips. I'll be messing around with it!

I've noticed some spotty bluetooth connectivity on my device. For instance, my device will connect to a bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth speaker, but not to my car stereo or a set of headphones. Has anyone run into this before? -
SOLVED: Spotify keyboard in Anbox

Installing FDroid
System
OS: 16.04 (2020-W19)
Device: Oneplus One (bacon)

Thanks in advance!

Anbox issues
SYSTEM
OS: 16.04
Device: Oneplus One (bacon)
Channel: release-candidateI was able to successfully install and use anbox on the stable channel. I have recently switched to the release-candidate channel and got annbox up and running. However, I did notice a few things:
- When I started anbox, there were multiple instances of the default apps (i.e. calculator, calendar, contact, and 4 instances of Files). Does anyone know how to get these default apps to not show up when running anbox?
- If I have to remove the default apps (or any apps I pull from my android), where are they installed to verify that
adb uninstall
has worked? - Finally, how would one go about completely uninstalling everything related to anbox and starting over?
Thanks in advance for your help!

RE: Calendar App Sync issue with Google Calendar
@Lakotaubp Ahh that's interesting. I went to the ubuntu touch GitHub and looked for open and closed issues related to "calendar" and it appears that there was a bug that seems similar to what we have documented here. Here is what I have tried:
- Switched to the stable channel and installed update.
- Tried to add google account in Accounts. Received the "Temporarily disabled for this app" error.
- Did 10 attempts at adding google account. All failed.
- I noticed that the heading text of the Google Account sign in was "Ubuntu.com".
- Switched to Release candidate channel, installed update, and repeated attempts at adding google account.
- I got "Couldn't sign you in. This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser." the first attempt.
- I noticed that the heading text of the Google Account sign in was "UBports.com".
- On the 2nd attempt, I got the captcha word thing and was able to add the account.
- I was able to sync my contacts and various calendars on this channel. I should note, that the calendars had to appear on my Google Calendar as "checked" in the list on the left hand side during the initial sync. Once they all synced, it didn't matter if they were checked on the google side or not.
I didn't try the Dev channel at all, but it seems to be working on the release candidate channel. Not sure if this discrepancy is worth reporting to the ubuntu touch GitHub?

RE: Calendar App Sync issue with Google Calendar
@Lakotaubp Here's what I did:
- Changed to dev channel and installed update.
- Went to System Settings and tried to add Google Account. I got "Couldn't sign you in. This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser."
- Confirmer Google account settings that Less Secure App Access is turned on.
- Launched Calendar app on OPO.
- Tried to add online calendar, but received the same error as above.
