RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 127 call for questions
Do you have any way to measure how many people are running Focal vs Xenial? If not, make a guess: above or below 50% ?

RE: What kind of smart watch do you use (or would use if it had an app on UT)?
I see there's work being done on a clickable build for Amazfish. It doesn't look that far-off:

RE: What kind of smart watch do you use (or would use if it had an app on UT)?
I have a pinetime. Used to be able to sync the time, and steps with uwatch, didn't work last time i tried. Link to uwatch here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6127/smartwatch-sync-app
Edit: i use infinitime, it's what it's shipped with,so i expect the majority use that. I use the watch daily, but just as a dumb one, would love to have notifications and time sync on it.

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 122 live from FOSDEM Sunday 5th Feb
On an earlier q&a you talked about an experimental patch for the notch on the Fairphone 4. Is there a way we can test it out?
Now that 20.04 is so close to the finish line, and people are already daily driving it. How does it feel? Surreal?

RE: Installation questions
Disregard the android 9 thing, it's just meant for devices with 9 and higher. I know that it's very confusing. I recommend the rc channel if you want a stable experience.

To Alfred
Good presentation at the ubuntu summit.
How was the reception afterward, were people interested in the project?
I was hoping you'd be using the jingpad for it, that would have blown peoples mind. -
RE: Smartwatch sync app
@jiho After deleting the app through the UT Tweak tool, and then reinstalling it just works. I haven't upgraded the system or done anything else fancy, so no idea why it didn't work the first time Thank you so much for the help
-
RE: Smartwatch sync app
@jiho Nope, not getting it to work. Maybe because i'm running the firmware that came out three days ago, or maybe i'm just too on the edge XD
This is as far as i get. Refresh doesn't do anything.

RE: Smartwatch sync app
Thank you
Edit: I'm on Edge with the Fairphone 4 and infinitime 1.11.0. It's connected, but i'm not getting any stats. Bluetooth settings says it's a mouse
-
RE: Smartwatch sync app
@jiho Hi, do you have a new download link? The old one expired. I tried building it from source, but I'm too noob to figure out the apparmor settings. unconfined doesn't work XD

RE: Ubuntu touch lock screen not working
@reallyfesucks you can expand it with gparted on your pc.
If it's flashed to the emmc you can connect it to the pc through jumpdrive on an sd card via usb.

RE: Pinephone Rant
Sure, i can do that. I just thought that it coming from a developer would carry more weight.

RE: Pinephone Rant
One suggestion:
Create a forum post on the ubports subforum on pine64 and ask for help: Here and get it stickied.
Say what you are working on, and that you are looking for people to help out. Add a link to ubports forum for further communication.
I know you guys made a newspost with pine64 earlier, but not everyone reads that, and it's only "valid" for a month.

RE: Pinephone Rant
@totalrando yeah, that was my point I'm just a total rando though

RE: Pinephone Rant
It's a bit weird that the best and most stable ubport experience is hidden away on the kernel upgrade channel. I am very happy with that version, but most people are running "stable" and many are experiencing phone blanking after the power button is pressed (fixed in kernel upgrade). source 1 source 2 source 3
It's also quicker and the modem is more stable.

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 92 Saturday 16th January at 19:00 UTC
Happy new year!! My pinephone stable image is still on the 09.18.20 version. What happened with "push the button" from last episode? XD

The latest stable pinephone image is from 2020-09-18. When is the release candidate reaching stable?

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 79 Saturday 4th Of July At 19:00UTC
Some pinephones have stability issues at the high dram frequency the images have. How will you address this for future non tech savvy users?
