@kugiigi Don't forget that it also fixed the battery drain on FP4 that almost broke you
tested 20.04 rc, fp4. Everything seems to work great, it even feels more responsive.

Several apps in the open-store didn't work after upgrading to noble, like amazfish and ambot (works with latest update). This felt like a subpar experience compared to the xenial-> focal update where the apps in the store had a seperate focal branch and were expected to work. Why was it done differently this time?
99% certain this has something to do with waydroid. I get it all the time on fp4, but only after i used waydroid. Is there an open issue somewhere on gitlab?
The brightness is wrong before i log in. I tested this with two fairphone 4, one noble and one focal with brightness set on lowest. After i log in i get the correct brightness

Will snaps that support push-notifications like Fluffychat work out of the box on UT?
Hi! Community stalker here! I used to stalk/read the Dev sync notes, but they haven't been updated since April. Will they be back, or are you hiding from me?
@Jean-Luc-L You can already synchronise the calendar with Nextcloud. The Ghostcloud app lets you synchronise files/photos to Nextcloud. Contact synch is coming """soon"""".:beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Everything works fine on the FP4 after switching to the RC channel. Only the 'Waydroid Stop' app icon has disappeared and cannot be restored even after uninstalling and reinstalling it. The app itself works and the icon labeling is also there.
I also have the waydroid stop icon/picture missing. It's weird that it only effects that app.
Sorry for the late reply, people rarely check the off-topic section.
You have not broken any ubports rules, and are welcome to use another account. You have made valuable contributions in the past, and we'd love to have you back. The community is very active on telegram and you can get help with porting related questions here: https://t.me/ubports_porting
The stuff between you and gitlab, is not something I am knowledgeable about, but i recommend you follow their TOS.
Personally I'm a big fan of the project, but my contribution is through donations, occasional qa and lurking on telegram. I don't know programming, and don't regard myself as qualified.
I do see qualified people on telegram, but maybe they are a bit overwhelmed by the formality and don't understand that they are eligible or what it means. My suggestion would be to reach out to those individuals, tell them that they are eligible, and ask if that's something they would be interested to know more about, without any pressure ofc.
@wisdomlight yes, and no. There are several options, but none of them are perfect:
Install Axolotl from the openstore. It can act as a primary or secondary device. It's currently bare bone and didn't always work when i used it as a secondary device, haven't tried primary.
Install Signal through waydroid. It works well, but you don't get push notifications and waydroid drains your battery faster.
Create a matrix bridge or purchase one. The bridge act as a secondary device and you can use the matrix app Cinny.
I currently use a purchased matrix bridge from element one, and Cinny. It works ok now after they resolved some issues with the bridge that happened earlier this year. I use signal in waydroid as a primary device, and have it as a backup in case the bridge fail ( it has been stable so far). Unfortunately I can't copy paste stuff in the Cinny app, i've opened an issue on github.
What are you looking forward to in 24.04?
Do you have any way to measure how many people are running Focal vs Xenial? If not, make a guess: above or below 50% ?
I see there's work being done on a clickable build for Amazfish. It doesn't look that far-off:
I have a pinetime. Used to be able to sync the time, and steps with uwatch, didn't work last time i tried. Link to uwatch here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6127/smartwatch-sync-app
Edit: i use infinitime, it's what it's shipped with,so i expect the majority use that. I use the watch daily, but just as a dumb one, would love to have notifications and time sync on it.
On an earlier q&a you talked about an experimental patch for the notch on the Fairphone 4. Is there a way we can test it out?
Now that 20.04 is so close to the finish line, and people are already daily driving it. How does it feel? Surreal?

Disregard the android 9 thing, it's just meant for devices with 9 and higher. I know that it's very confusing. I recommend the rc channel if you want a stable experience.

Good presentation at the ubuntu summit.
How was the reception afterward, were people interested in the project?
I was hoping you'd be using the jingpad for it, that would have blown peoples mind. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@jiho After deleting the app through the UT Tweak tool, and then reinstalling it just works. I haven't upgraded the system or done anything else fancy, so no idea why it didn't work the first time  Thank you so much for the help
@jiho Nope, not getting it to work. Maybe because i'm running the firmware that came out three days ago, or maybe i'm just too on the edge XD
This is as far as i get. Refresh doesn't do anything.
