RE: OpenStore Request: Update All button
Hi, @advocatux. Thanks for replying!
I haven't crossed neither of those options but I believe in you. Hopefully integrating the option in the app store is easy. What can I do to help?
What about regarding the second bullet? Do you have any knowledge as to why that happens?

OpenStore Request: Update All button
Hello everyone,
I recently installed UT on a Nexus 5 device and had some new updates after installation. Pretty standard. But noticed two things I'd like to discuss that I think should behave differently:
- There is no "Update All" kind of button. I think this is a feature we should implement as it is a life saver.
- When I have to manually update each one of them, I noticed I could leave. Updating apps should be asynchronous, somehow. The user should be able to back into the store while the updates are being installed.
What do you guys think?
Thanks for your time.

RE: Move from Github to Gitlab?
@flohack said in Move from Github to Gitlab?:
@aury88 we want to avoid self-hosting. We are not in the position to guarantee availability and secured data when we do it our own. Thats the whole idea of a cloud service, you have 24/7 access and no need to worry about server hardware failure, ISP network headache, let alone the 200 security patches you have to do each week. If you never run servers and services your own you might think its easy nowadays. Believe me its not.
I think we are not bringing costs to the table and, I mean. for an open source project, I'd say that is a major concern and self-hosted services like these have significant implications.
Despite not being related to the Foundation in any way other than a small contributor, I think self-hosted does not make much sense for many reasons.

RE: Move from Github to Gitlab?
I am okay with moving to GitLab. I think this platform has more benefits than most out there right now, including GitHub.
Regardless, I am in favor of waiting so the projects can be finished. Despite GitLab having lots of tools to help people migrate to their platform and what-not, they are a bit overloaded right now and moving 300+ repositories now will take days or even weeks. It will be a complicated task and if we do it now it will take longer than we can take.
The strategy should be planned in a future meeting by the devs and decide on what is the best course of action to minimize recursions and find the best occasion to make it happen.

RE: Ubuntu Touch Programming Course
This may seem off-topic, but way a custom PPA when LXC and LXD are available in the repositories?

RE: Nexus 5 - UBPort doesn't react after rebooting to bootloader
When I tried installing UBPorts, I first had an issue because I moved the cable and the installation failed. The phone was no longer responsive.
I started the installer, picked the phone and tried entering recovery mode (in a Nexus 5 is power + volume down), after that and only then I started the installer. It worked just fine. Hope this can help you out.

RE: [HowTo][Convergence]Use a simulated miracast sink for testing convergence
I followed the guide and wasn't able to connect.
Tested using UT 15.04 (r3) in a Nexus 5 Hammerhead and in Ubuntu 17.10 in my laptop.

The process on the Computer runs smoothly, the problem is when trying to connect to the external display in the options menu. Under Wireless Displays, there is a list of devices which only the computer shows. After clicking it, it stays indefinitely trying to connect. If I leave the menu and return, on the right side of "Choose a display", the blue loading icons stays indefinitely too and does not allow me to try connecting to the computer. If I wait a bit longer, I'm able to try connecting to the device but the same occurs. I also tried leaving the screen on always to see if it returned anything at all and I got
Failed to connect to machina. Try again.
(my machine name) Tried and got the same result. Please let me know what other information you need to try and get this working. It would be a great addition!
Thanks in advance!
