Will Vollaphone X move to Noble and will it get VOLTE?

AFAIK it will move to noble, but it won't get VoLTE (like the Vollaphone). First it's nice to know that these devices are kept alive with the move to noble, but on the other hand it's a pity that they won't get VoLTE (even if they are capable of that under VollaOS). So they will be up to date from the software-side, but can't do a simple phone call or sending a message/SMS because of the 2G shutdown

@Ian I am happy to report that the selected alarm sound now plays on my Volla Phone X on RC (2023-W28). Roll on OTA-2!

I managed to upgrade my Volla Phone X to OTA-23 with this workaround: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/1999#issuecomment-1173449818

@moem I blame my bad eyesight! I had to use UTTT to make the fonts big enough for me to see. I'm guessing that is why I have a scroll bar on the edit screen.

It does have a use. If you are watching a video in full screen through morph or in media player you can use it to access the top bar to see what the time is or what your new notification is.

@luksus What can I say? I have a special talent! I'm told that the latest updates should make it a less painful experience, even for someone of my ability. I will wait for OTA22 and have another try. Just need to pluck up the corage.... and get some more beer in just in case I brick my phone again!

OK. So I'll have to make do with adding an image onto the phone and setting it as the background/wallpaper. This lets me see how much the image is cropped. I can then edit the image on my PC to add the text box whilst looking at the image on my phone's background to GUESS a position that will not get cropped. I can then export the image as a jpeg, send it to my phone and set as background. Not the best but it works.
