@danfro In reality I always get it to work for maximum half a minute at a time before it closes, and without a working keyboard, but long enough to check messages.

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
@moem All though the app doesn't run 100% on 2.x at the moment, I use it to check messages whenever my Signal bridge is a bit under the weather. It always starts after a couple of tries. (No OSK, but very useful to check if there are any important messages waiting.)
I am so grateful for all the effort you put into this, @pparent , thank you!

RE: USB parameters on headband ?
I'm a happy user of the files indicator! PodCat and PodPhoenix uses them to track ongoing and finished downloads, and it is very useful to see that the downloads are finished before I leave wifi in the morning. So to me this is a very useful feature, and definately not a bug.
That being said, I would also love some kind of icon/easier way for managing the function of a connected USB.

RE: signal bridge on cinny
I had issues with the technics.de bridge most of yesterday, maybe this lag affected your new login attempt too? I would try again today, things seem stable again.

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
@autostatic I also missed the fine print while installing Signal UT the first time. I solved this by removing the app and then reinstalling and pinning the icon while I was asked for permission during installation.

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
@gpatel-fr Hm, thanks for the tip! I'll try it out on my day off

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
@gpatel-fr Glad to hear it has not affected 1.x daily yet. As I understand it 2.0 or 2.1 is not coming anytime soon, no.

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
@pparent Very cool to see that you are working on notifications!
I'll see if I can make a good description for the general tracker later today, if nobody has done it yet. It would be so sad to loose all of these great apps on a future stable release. I'm wondering if it has affected 1.x daily yet, or if it is a pure 2.x issue.

RE: Signal UT: Signal-Desktop for Ubuntu Touch
The OSK seems to have disappeared in Signal UT for (some) 2.x users. I know this UT version is not supported yet, but I wanted to mention it just in case. I added an issue to the tracker.

RE: Has anyone gotten Ubuntu Touch to work in Sweden in 2026?
I think VoLTE on the FP4 is quite recent. Have you confirmed that it is actually working for others in 24.04 1.1?

RE: Fairphone 5 Wifi Issues
@Martin230799 Yes, or to flash Android 13 before beginning, I'm not sure you can downgrade from within 14/15 on the FP5. I lucked out when I bought mine and it had A13 installed.

RE: Merezhyvo browser
@naz.R Wow, it works great! Both the interface language and the keyboard. Thank you for adding both, the UI translation was a very nice surprise. This browser is so pleasant to use.

RE: Win a Volla Quintus with Tuta mail
@libremax Whoah!!! Thank you!
The link actually shows up as a regular UBports forum post to me. That's really cool.

RE: Win a Volla Quintus with Tuta mail
Wow, on X. Did they also post this on a more free platform?
It's a nice price, though, and I am happy with Tuta, even on UT, as it works very well in several of the experimental Browsers.

RE: Fairphone 5 Wifi Issues
Did you install Android 13 first, before installing UT? That step in the guide is important for all hardware to work as expected.

RE: Merezhyvo browser
I really like this browser! Is there any chance you could also add a Norwegian keyboard? I really like how you've implemeted a different keyboard, it is refreshing to try something different. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

RE: WWW (a demake of VVVVVV)
This is SO HARD and I absolutely love it.
Thank you again for another great app!

RE: Smooth Edges (name pending) - Let's Fix the Bugs That Drive You Mad
This is an awesome initiative! I really love the idea, and how you see the potential in every community member to help with this project.
The one thing that gets me again and again is the keyboard crashing while I'm in an ongoing chat/SMS-exchange. That one really gets my pulse going.

RE: [Call for] Nominations for the UBports Community Awards
I'm nominating Podcat and RockWork! These two apps contribute hugely to my enjoyment of UT.
Which means of course that I nominate the devs Joan CiberSheep for their wonderful work on bringing the fun back to podcasts in UT, and Muhammad for his tireless and creative ways of bringing Pebble compatibility to UT. And for all of his bluetooth magic!

RE: How to edit text files?
The keyboard in the terminal has the ctrl commands for nano. Press the hamburger menu and hold your finger on it to navigate through the different ctrl options.
