SMS/MMS data can be found in :
.local/share/history-service
Unfortunately, I did not find the content of my SMSs in the history.sqlite database, only a huge number of very strange links.
I think you are confusing something...
@keneda said in How to transfer configuration and data to another phone?:
@ogogon
Adress book can be found in :.local/share/evolution/adressbook/system
You'll find in it "contact.db" wich contains contact infos, and maybe a "photos" folder if you put pictures for some contacts.
Thanks. Indeed, there are entries in the contact.db database that correspond in number and content to the address book.
Is it enough just to copy this file to the new phone to the same place?
Colleagues, tell me, please, what should I do in order to transfer the phone settings and data (address book, SMS, history) to a new device?
In my opinion, this is quite important information, but I did not find any FAQ or HowTo on this topic. If I haven't been looking well, tell me where it is.
Is there any information about where and in what format this data is stored?
Ogogon.
@keneda said in Back up of phone:
No, you need to backup the home folder manually.
There is some work out there to add this feature in the ubports installer, but still not implemented.
@cibersheep said in Back up of phone:
@ogogon you can reinstall the OS without wiping your data (from UBports installer or changing channels).
To copy info, for now, sadly, you have to copy the files manually
Every day I like it more and more!
And there is some kind of description that tells where which files are located?
Colleagues, can you please tell me if there is a way to back up data from your phone? Call logs, SMS, phone book, notes, photo-video...
Is there some utility that does this automatically?
I apologize if I am asking the question not very correctly.
If I install the UBPorts operating system on my Xiaomi Mi A2 phone, does it completely replace Android One?
Or does UBPorts, in a sense, run under Android One or its elements?
Thanks in advance for an answer to the essence of the question,
Ogogon.

@ogogon Sorry to correct @CiberSheep but application logs are not in /var/log but in the user´s app area, and logviewer App can read from there.
In the area of user applications, I found two files - linpfone-tmp.log and linphone.cibersheep.log. Apparently, both are empty - if you click on them, an empty window opens.
I made calls before - both successful and unsuccessful.
Am I doing something wrong again?

Pardon the intrusion. Fresh installation of logviever operates in
/home/phablet/.cache/upstart
. Have a nice day.
Thank you!

I'm sorry, I already reconfigured it to /var/log. What is the path to user applications area?
Do not use to capture logs with terminal or cmdline, open the log viewer app and look there.
And if I go over ssh and say 'tail -f filename', can something go wrong?
(Of course, I do not want to doubt the reasonability of your advice, but I have done this all my life and it worked.)

@Flohack said in Using linphone:
@ogogon Ubuntu Touch uses a rather unique App framework so none of the existing mobile Apps is suppsoed tun there. Its not a matter of taste if we make a new binary, its rather a must.
So we took the core libraries of Linphone but put them into new clothes, and connected all the parts as UT demands it to do. We cannot reuse easily any of those designs, so its rather a rewrite than a port of the official App
Aha! Now I finally understood what was happening! What everyone means, but never speak directly.
The ingenious developers of UT have created an nothing incompatible platform and you cannot just compile an already developed package on it. The package needs to be rewritten for it.
We have another android, only open source!
(I'll go drink three hundred drops of essential valerian!)
@CiberSheep said in Using linphone:
see I don't express very well here.
You have nothing to apologize for. Rather, I need to do this.
English is not my native language, I am not its native speaker.
Therefore, in many situations I understand the lexical meaning, but I do not understand the intonation. Because mechanisms for transmissions of intonation are taken from a little familiar to me the cultural layer.
Please do not worry - in such situations I always ask again.
- Why a dialer?
- What's the benefits to have another assembly specific to the phone number that will be useless for SIP uris?
- What's the downside of having the OS keyboard
Objectively, you are completely right.
But this is very habitually: if you run the softphone, the dialer immediately runs in.
The easiest is to install Logviwer that reads in
/var/log/
check that the log doesn't show any SIP number
I installed this program, switched it to the /var/log directory, however I didn’t find a file like linphone.log there.
Do I need to enable logging somehow? Or do I need to look in some other file?
Ogogon.
@CiberSheep said in Using linphone:
That's the official Linphone App from Linphone.
I apologize if I ask an indecent question, but what is wrong with this assembly? Why not include it in UBPorts? Why do you need to do another assembly if there is already done and having a fairly wide functionality?
An answer like "if you are so smart, then take it and turn it on" is not accepted. I want to understand your logic.
Dialing a number should automatically add the domain. If that is not the case, tap the link, and file and issue with the steps to reproduce so we can take a look at it.
I do not want to upset you, but it is not added.
Is the program log somewhere written on the phone, or can I only attach the console output of my Asterisk?
Sorry, shortcut for Merge Request
Can it consist only of a wish?
Ogogon.
@CiberSheep said in Using linphone:
Thank you for your message.
Thank you for your reply.
- This is a project to participate in, not a product to consume.
Then I’d better not say anything. I do not want to start a big philosophical discussion, during which I can express something that may seem disrespectful.
Long answer: After some thought I decided that I didn't want to have a whole dialer eating most part of the screen just to introduce number, specially because the SIP uri that I use are mostly alphaumerical. Therefore, it is more convenient for me to have a complete keyboard that would let you type an URI or change to numeric keyboard to introduce phone numbers.
I can agree with this logic.
However, as I understand it, there are already assemblies with a dialer. Here is a photo from some Cyrillic wiki.
(I'm sorry, I did not understand how to adjust the sizes.)
It should. If it doesn't, then it is a bug. Please, check open an issue if it's not already there or add information if the issue is already opened: https://gitlab.com/ubports-linphone/linphone-simple/issues
I'm sorry, but how to do this?
Is this an opinion or an issue?
Rather, this is a rhetorical question...
Please, explain.
I assumed that the described functionality is not there, because I did not install needed modules.
Not yet. MR are welcome
I'm sorry, but what is MR?

@ogogon
Hi, sorry I don't know anything about Linphone.
But I'll move your topic to the support part of the forum, I find it more suitable for your question.
Oh, how good you are!
I apologize if I ask the question in the wrong category.
I installed the 'linphone' program from OpenStore. Version 0.9.2.
Unfortunately, it does not have a dialer, and there is only a line for entering a SIP URI.
Moreover, when registering, he requires you to enter the domain of the used softswitch, and therefore knows it. But if I enter for call only the left part of the URI, without the '@' symbol, then he does not understand that the domain needs to be added automatically.
Is everything so bad?
I did not install any components?
Need to make any additional settings? And where?
Can this linphone assembly be configured to work over TLS?
Colleagues, tell me, please, how to solve this problem.
Ogogon.
I use phone BQ Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition and tablet Aquaris M10 FHD Ubuntu Edition.
Both use Ubuntu 16.04 (OTA-11)
Colleagues, please tell me how to solve my problem!
I have a WiFi access point, builded on the current version of OpenWRT. She uses hostapd and external FreeRADIUS.
For a normal connection with her, I need to set the following parameters: security: WPA2-Enterprise, autorisation: PEAP, version PEAP: auto, internal autorisation: MSCHAPv2, no CA, user, password.
My Mac Mini connects absolutely normal.
My notebook with Linux Mint too.
Unfortunately, my tablet and phone with UBPorts (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 20191016) do not connect.
Message: Incorrect authentication data.
Since hostapd does not write anything to the log file at all, I believe that he does not connect to it at all.
I believe that the client, seeing that the certificate does not have a CA, terminates the connection.
At the same time, I set in menu, that the CA certificate is missing.
Perhaps this is a bug in the Wi-Fi section of system setup program.
Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?
Ogogon.
Colleagues, tell me, please!
If I select a Nexus 5 phone to install UBPorts, what should I look for?
Release time, unlock of some features, version of Аndroid?
On the site, for most supported phones, warnings about unlocking are indicated, but for Nexus 4-5 - not.
Please tell me what you need to pay attention to when choosing the phone instance, so that later do not have problems with the installation?
Thank you in advance,
Ogogon.
