RE: Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
@Keneda said in Any fix planned for the boot bug ?:
to recognize the file, low number, under or equal to 25 is xenial stable, RC is much like 100, and dev can be 800 or so
Arrrg ! I never used channels until today, I always tested the Stable versions as soon as they were available. According to what you say above, I understand that I have the Dev version (987) installed, not the Stable one (23). So let's go for another installation and cross the fingers to see it good at last ...

RE: Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
@Keneda Good evening,
It has been laborious. I don't even know if we can declare this issue as solved because I had to install and reinstall several times the versions without being sure which ones were really installed at a given time. After installing the RC version, the Stable version would not reinstall. I think I installed the Developer version having engaged Developer mode for all intents and purposes. I was finally able to reinstall the Stable version (at least I think so, as the channel selection seems to be unstable or even random).
I just turned the phone off and on again without having to force a reboot. The problem seems to be solved but I am unable to specify how.
Unless I am mistaken, the versions installed successively are :
RC version 150 OS number OTA-25 peripheral ..._1023known
Dev version 23 OS number OTA-25 peripheral ...1023known
Stable version 987 OS number 2023-04-14 peripheral ...1987_known
Above list is false, see below
I don't know if this is normal and understandable for you
Best regards

RE: Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
@lduboeuf ok, I will give a try and comment here (I need first to upgrade my Mint Desktop which is a more urgent operation)
Have a nice day

RE: Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
@lduboeuf sorry if I missed something about a previous issue.
If you think the only way is to reinstall, I think I will only do it if I'm sure that No Wipe keeps my Libertine setup unmodified.
Thanks for your answer too

RE: Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
@arubislander : I didn't notice any boot problem with OTA-24 and I don't remember if I seriously check OTA-23 before that. But since OTA-25 was automatically distributed and updated, each time my BQ is switched off, then on, the boot fails :
After displaying a white screen with BQ, the Ubuntu screen appears and some dots go highlighted, then the screen goes almost black (but not switched off) and the phone stays like that.
I have to force a new boot thanks to the three buttons maintained about 15 seconds in order to get a proper start up of the phone.
No, I didn't try reinstalling with the UBports installer because I have many personnal settings among which a very important Libertine installation (tools, code, applications, ...) and it would be hard to reinstall all this in exactly the same way as it is.
Thanks for your answer

Any fix planned for the boot bug ?
OTA-25 was supposed to be the last version for BQ's unfortunately it brings a very unpleasant bug at startup (screen almost turned off, forced startup required).
Do you have a fix planned and how would it be distributed?

RE: Copy file out of libertine container to normal file system
Read the doc ...
Libertine applications have access to these folders:
Documents
Music
Pictures
Downloads

RE: deeper embed of libertine??
@developerbayman I've never needed any command line for Libertine and it works nice !
Just do that

RE: Dekko 2 privacy
@rogier-oudshoorn : I don't need that Dekko2 checks my email every x minutes. I just need a mail client able to check "on demand" a few e-mail accounts in a safe way. It seems to me that this is what Dekko1 did. Dekko2 should have an option to run without all privileges !
This is the only thing that prevent me from switching definitively from Ubuntu Touch Canonical OTA-15 version (on my daily driver BQ E5) to Ubports OTA-24 (used only for testing on my second BQ E5). So sad ...

RE: How to install emacs?
@mdl : many information to read about Libertine in this sub-forum
However, AFAIK, nobody has reported to have tested emacs.
Good luck

RE: Unable to run wireshark as root on libertine
I don't know what you hope to do with WireShark but while waiting for a possible solution, netstat works under Libertine and can display the accesses in real time. Here is an example of netstat trace wrapped in a Gtk3 GUI that I coded.

RE: Unable to run wireshark as root on libertine
Hi,
This has already been mentioned in several topics
@pulsar33 said in Gently setup a Libertine container and some applications:Wireshark (NPA) is a special case. When installing from the GUI, the process asks a question and you can't answer it, unfortunately. So the installation process never ends. And if you try to install it otherwise, you can't create the Wireshark group that is required for it to work. it's really a shame.
@fakeshell said in Libertine tested apps, hacks, tips and tricks:
wireshark (can open already existing captured packets file but cannot capture packets on interfaces because libertine is running in an unprivileged container)
currently only the gtk3 version of wireshark work: cd /usr/share/applications && mv wireshark-gtk.desktop wireshark.desktopHere is what seems to be a definitive answer from @dobey
Best regards

RE: Better GTK GUI scaling?
@3x5 IMHO, after you have destroyed your container with the Preferences/Libertine GUI, it is possible that some irrelevant data persist in the following folders :
/home/phablet/.cache/libertine-container/xenial
/home/phablet/.local/share/libertine-container/user-data/xenial
/userdata/user-data/phablet/.cache/libertine-container/xenial
Have a look to them before creating the new containerHope this help

RE: Better GTK GUI scaling?
Hello
Did you read this (and some others in Libertine sub-forum) ?
It seems to me that each application has to be adapted instead of using a global setting
According to me, you have better to set the font size and other adjustments available in each program than to use LTTBR

RE: Opening ports for WiFi access point
@br1 not as good as expected but I thank you anyway for the information. It seems I will have to change the type of communication, even if simple bidirectionnal UDP was cool.

RE: Opening ports for WiFi access point
@arubislander : I know that but there should be a decision to assume the difference
Else how can I tell that my two devices are not running the same OS ?Aquaris BQ E5 HD UBports OTA-23 (currently testing features)
Aquaris BQ E5 HD Ubuntu Edition Canonical OTA-15 (last Canonical version, daily use)OTA-15 was the last Canonical revision. If UBports had produced OTA-16 as first release all would have be more simple but it's not the case ...
Sorry for remaining out of scope. Hope this will close the question

RE: Opening ports for WiFi access point
Hello,
For information :
I made a test with a FP2 running Androïd instead of my two BQ E5 (Ubuntu Touch and UBports)
I have exactly the same problem. So, we can say :
- UBports is not the reason of the problem.
- It would be cool that UBports help me to solve the problem !
If the problem comes from the ISP, UBports can simply help to confirm
If the problem comes from the modem management, maybe UBports could help to find a workaroundBR
