I have a couple of questions:
- Are there any plans to add .ovpn imports for VPN in Ubuntu touch anytime soon?
- Is the new version going to be Ubuntu Touch 24.xx or is it going to be OTA-5 and when is the tentative release date?
I have a couple of questions:
@arubislander In that case, can you suggest a mouse that is compatible with ubuntu touch?
@arubislander No the mouse does not show up even when not connected to the external monitor via wireless(even though the status under bluetooth is connected)
So what should i do now?
I've connected my Google Pixel 3a XL to an external monitor via aethercast and also connected my Lenovo bluetooth mouse to my phone. The mouse shows as connected in the bluetooth page but the cursor does not show up on the phone or the external monitor. Clicking does nothing as well.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
Hi there
I have installed Ubuntu Touch OTA-3(20.04) on my google pixel 3a xl and want to use the phone over an external display. For this, I've connected a lenovo bluetooth mouse but the mouse icon does not show up on the phone or on the external display. Is this issue specific to pixel 3a or is it a known issue? is there any fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Hi.
I'm contemplating installing Ubuntu touch on a spare google pixel 3 a XL. I have watched quite a lot of videos about Ubuntu touch on YouTube but I haven't seen anything about supporting multiple users like android does.
Does Ubuntu touch support multiple users? If it doesn't, is it on the to-do list of future versions? Just curious.
@lakotaubp thank you!! worked like a charm
I have flashed my aging oneplus one with ubuntu touch and so far i'm impressed. Apart from the irritating lag, most things work fine.
I tried giving access to my google account through the online accounts page in settings and i keep getting the message βThe browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser. If you're already using a supported browser you can refresh your screen and try again to sign inβ
Is this normal behaviour? If so, is there anyway to fix this? I've already turned on less secure apps if that helps.
I like the new app drawer instead of the last ui which had scopes. It reminds me a LOT of the unity 7 dash. If only it had the functionality of the Unity 7 dash of ubuntu 14.04(when it came out) such as universal search(search for applications, files, contacts, music and video from local as well as online sources) it would be cool.
In fact, bringing the concept of lenses and scopes to THIS drawer makes more sense. Maybe the drawer could become the universal home scope and have lenses for different file types. This could also work for convergence and bring in a lot of the Unity 7 fans who are unhappy with Gnome3(like me) and perhaps even reduce maintenance of Unity 7 post 2021. I don't know if it is possible.. or feasible. An intriguing idea nonetheless.
Right now, scopes is nothing but glorified Google Now cards. They collect information. But if you have to view it, you need to open an app or browser. There is a feature called instant view in telegram that actually does this, only, its better.
I'll state right now that i am NOT a developer. So i do not know if my ideas are even feasible. This is just my 2 cents on the issue
It would be better if we managed the following for scopes:
I'm on OTA-2 for bacon(oneplus one) and i've got a very strange problem. The openstore app does not work on my high speed wifi connection. When i open the app, a horizontal grey bar is all that is visible. I'm not able to search for or install anything. Very surprisingly, the app works well under a dead slow wifi connection. It takes an awfully long time to dowload and install apps under the slow connection. Anyway to troubleshoot this strange issue?
A few features and bug fixes i hope will find their way to OTA-3:
Lesser lag when switching between applications and scrolling in the home screen.
Support for multiple users on phone and tablet.
Better battery life for the phone
Support for basic android applications by further developing halium(Long term goal obviously)
