@oldbutndy I get and appreciate the idea, that's unfortunately still not what I'm working on. I first and foremost wanna be done with my current task (and exams coming up are not helping that!). Once I'm done I have a few things planned out for betterment of user-experience, hopefully I can find a way to incorporate your suggestions too

@oldbutndy As far as I know, if your bootloader isn't unlocked the the installer will inform you about that. As for unlocking the bootloader, steps for doing so may vary widely between devices and that guide is usually present in their xda threads, if not then maybe I'll try to look into that too, tho again these efforts are tedious and it will take time. Right now I'm almost done with updating the device listings and by today or tomorrow I'll ask for a mr for my changes.

Once this is done we will figure out things further

@oldbutndy As @moem said I am only working within the given guidelines and scopes of the syntaxes used by the website. I'm merely updating the pre existing information so that it's more accurate. I cannot add entries myself that's a feature request for the website itself. I do like the ideas tho and I do think the execution of them is quite easy but also tedious. It's something I'll look into once I'm done doing things that need fixing first. We can't keep adding more stuff when the current stuff still needs fixing

@paulcarroty can you let me know what changes should be made? the device is listed as abandoned and supported till focal. If you're running Noble can you verify whether the listings for what works and what doesn't is correct or not?

@projectmoon cool, so all of that holds true for noble. in that case I'll make a noble file for it

@projectmoon okay so I'll be needing more user reports for what works and what doesn't so that we can list it as a noble device

In an effort to streamline information across all the sources I am working on updating device listings on the official ubuntu touch website first. I would firstly like to know from people who are running Noble on devices which are otherwise not listed with it on the main website (for eg: Pixel 3a / 3a xl). It would also be appreciated if you list any changes (things that stopped working / started working / changed in behaviour after updating).

    • RE: Willing to contribute in updating device listings (and any other documentations) and their status on devices.ubuntu-touch.io

@gpatel-fr ahaha I am running a dualboot setup as of right now mostly cuz I need it for college work, though I don't switch back to it that often cuz usually Waydroid does the job just fine. I don't mind using the web app via morph but my current setup is quite snappy so I don't think that should be an issue!

@gpatel-fr Yes I'm already aware of how the device documentation works and I can access gitlab using my android phone with termux and a companion app so that's not gonna be an issue!

@Moem Yes I am on telegram! and I was thinking to start with updating the devices page on the main website first since a lot of them seem to be outdated

    • Willing to contribute in updating device listings (and any other documentations) and their status on devices.ubuntu-touch.io

Heya, I'm a student who's got plenty time on their hands since my college hasn't started yet. In the meantime I've been actively testing Ubuntu Touch and have noticed how the devices page and other documentations lack updates. I unfortunately don't have a pc right now so I can't contribute in coding and development as of right now but I can offer to help in all kinds of documentation building stuff since I'm quite passionate about writing in general and I really wanna help the community however I can.

I will do this by keeping myself updated on new developments, talking to community members and ofcourse testing things myself.

So I'd like to ask, is this a welcomed effort??

    • RE: Working VoLTE reports, share your experience

@libremax On the Nothing Phone (1) running Noble in India. VoLTE seems to be working on all 3 major services here (Those being Airtel, Jio and Vi) . I haven't really had any issues in the past month of using UT. SMS are instant too.

      @Moem said:

referring blindly to this list https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/ to answer certain questions is a little too simplistic.

That is the unfortunate truth. It's a problem. And I don't see any easy solutions.

I might be wrong but from what I have seen the listings seem to be based on some files stored in their gitlab repo, if thats the case can I take the insentive to update these listings based on the installer and by asking community members? I have plenty time right now cuz my college starts late so I would be more than happy to help!

@libremax VoLTE is working! I've been testing for about a month and can confidently say that both outgoing and incoming calls work with proper audio over VoLTE
