@dobey Is there any way to use the camera and microphone for video calls on my pc? Are there any other tethering methods? Can I stream the camera over wifi?

Dual-booting Android Security Risks?
Hi there,
I want to migrate to UT for a privacy-respecting phone. If I were to dual boot AOSP, without logging into Google and using GAPPS, could I theoretically compromise my privacy installing both systems on the same device?
I am imagining a scenario similar to how the Intel Management Engine could theoretically go underneath the OS to steal private information without the OS knowing. Could AOSP access the UT installation?
Thanks!

Use Nexus 5 or OnePlus One as PC Webcam?
Hi!
I need to use Zoom and MS Teams for school. I assume these apps will not run reliably with the current development state anbox is in. Please correct me if I am wrong!
To work around this, is it possible to tether my phone to my PC running Arch Linux to use as a webcam and microphone?
Thanks!

Remote Control Desktop Using PinePhone?
Hey everyone,
I am very excited about the idea of purchasing a PinePhone and installing Ubuntu Touch! Before I do, I need to know one thing: is it possible to remote control a desktop computer through a PinePhone running Ubuntu Touch?
-
Is a VNC client available?
-
I noticed that DWService has a download for PinePhone. Will this work? The DWService web app in the OpenStore doesn't look like it's up to the job just yet.

Are they any TeamViewer-like Android apps known to run well in Anbox?
-
Are there any browser based services that could work?
Thanks!

RE: Can I run Parsec on Ubuntu Touch?
@Keneda Exactly that! My goal was to let my phone replace my laptop by using Parsec to portal into a desktop much more capable than a laptop. I would use a keyboard and track pad accessory with my phone.
I wanted to go with Ubuntu Touch over GraphineOS or LineageOS for the better privacy, but I recently found that Parsec's privacy policy is hot garbage.
I would still love to hear your feedback to my original question! May change my mind.
Thanks

What does the SMS app look like?
I am trying to get a feel for UT features and functionality so I can determine if it can replace my daily driver running Android. I cannot find screenshots of the SMS app anywhere.
Thanks!

Can I run Parsec on Ubuntu Touch?
Parsec will install on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Desktop and Android.
If it is possible to run Parsec on Ubuntu Touch, I would be more willing to get a Linux phone.
Thanks!

Can I make a OnePlus 7 Pro port?
Hi all,
I briefly read that Ubuntu Touch ports for new or unsupported devices can be made by anyone, granted they have the know-how to do so. Is this true? I am really drawn to Ubuntu Touch because I love the idea of getting away from Google. I have never developed for Linux. I only know basic C at best. However, I consider myself to be tech savvy, and I am definitely passionate about security!
Could I make a reasonable attempt at making my own port for the OnePlus 7 Pro by following the online guide? What would something like that entail? Am I better off waiting for an experienced community member to do it? Is a port for the OnePlus 7 Pro currently in the works?
Thanks!
