I would like to ask that you do a quick announcement for the 'Community Awards'. Things have developed quite well with a lot of input from other community members. This year we will have only two categories: Community favourite app Community favourite developer The prize for each category: a large pizza (details TBD). a webpage mentioning your award and why your won (details TBD). Nominations are open until the evening of 1 Dec. Ubuntu Touch isnt much known to be still alive, i think that it needs more social network visibility, ideally not only those for nerds (masodon) but also having news on platforms where normal people are (fb?)

@UBportsNews Firstly thanks to the community, Ubuntu Touch on my Fairphone 4 on 24.04-1.1 RC1 is awesome! I would like to ask regarding the future of Ubuntu Touch, is it planned to move away from a Ubuntu base and move to something like Debian for example? If not, what are the advantages of a Ubuntu base?

Update doesn't start on Volla Phone (the original one). I'm on OTA-10 (stable). I selected "Upgrade" from the screen as seen in the screenshot from domubpkm above. It downloaded the update. When I tap on "Install" it shows the known blue colored "Restart & Install" button. When I tap on it, it disappears and just nothing happens. Tried several times, even with reboots in between. So what am I supposed to do? EDIT: After asking in the Telegram group I triggered the update by executing sudo sh -c 'sync && reboot -f recovery' in the Terminal. Should also work by booting to recovery manually by holding volume up while powering on. Thanks to the guys in the group! My Volla Phone is on 24.02-1.0 now

@messayisto Thank you, it was fun! We were a decent sized group and there was plenty to talk about. I saw lots of animated conversations occur and lots of good questions and answers. It was a lovely little event and I'm glad that I helped facilitate it. And our thanks go out to our friends at Bitlair, who hosted us for no cost at all! We left them some nice cookies. It was the least we could do.
