When video playback will be fixed? UT can't play any kind of videos even the ones recorded by the phone. Each time it gives the following error message:
It doesn't work on all of my devices (Nexus 5 and Aquaris M10HD), still the issue in OTA-12 RC.
-
@ezze +1 for this, I have the exact same problem on my Nexus 5 and it's really annoying

Hi Ubports, the version of ubuntu touch is 16.04 now.
My question is we will go to 20.04 in version of ubuntu touch ? -
@ezze This is a known issue with N5. Workaround is to use UTmedia (available in open store), and apply those tips I posted a few times ago here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/3431/i-m-now-fully-using-ubuntu-touch-on-my-nexus-5/12?_=1587722152790

@stanwood I tried UTmedia and it played the one video once for me. After that it also doesn't work anymore. So using this outdated and unsupported software is not a workaround for me (and, probably, for most users). That's why we are eager to have this supported natively by the OS.
-
@ezze Did you try specifically those steps?
1)Open UTmedia
2) Tap and hold "Select file" till a popup shows "select all / close"
3) click on "close".
4) Click "select file" again
5) Browse on "files" and select the required video to play
6) Video is sucessfully loaded in UTmedia and can be played!Otherwise it mostly doesnβt work.

When should one add an issue to the specific package and when to the global issue repo?
For example I want media-hub to use embedded album art present in audio streams. Should this issue be added to media-hub or ubuntu-touch?
(btw I already have something sort of working for it)

@UBportsNews is there a time frame to update the Morph Browser to a newer one ? ( Chromium 65 at the moment) Some websites, mainly banks etc... don't support it anymore.
-
Can you explain a bit about the plans for Ubuntu Touch on Volla Phone? How UBports cooperates with Hallo Welt Systeme UG and what priority Volla Phone has for UBPorts? Thanks
I pre-ordered a Volla Phone, because I like the approach of Hallo Welt Systeme and their support for open systems. They seem to be very ambitious to build a good Ubuntu Touch experience on their phone and also aim to provide Android Apps via Anbox.

Hi thanks for this Q&A and all the amazing work on UT,
I just used the ubports installer on my OP3T and saw the pinephone on the device list even though device page on the website says it s not compatible yet, so is the pinephone already compatible with the installer?

It will eventually be possible to install Ubuntu Touch on the PinePhone via the UBports Installer. However, this method will likely perform the same steps as outlined here. Currently, we do not have a PinePhone in the hands of developers interested in the installer. This will change soon.

@Keneda thanks for the quick answer!
-
I got a few questions though I'm not sure I'll be able to join the call.
- when a device gets official support from ubports installer, will it receive 'official' ota updates?
- most ported devices requires a manual update atm, I experienced it during this month. Is it possible to make it clearer the way to create flashable zips and possibily let install them via ut itself by instructing twrp ?
- have you ever thought of supporting an android series of phones? Let's say galaxy A series, redmi A series, realme branded phones, or whatever? Let's say you focus on redmi A series (4a, 5a, 6a, etc), you have very low cost new devices to 'offer' (below 100$ target price, perfect for developing and exploring) which would still have android dual boot.
