Will Dekko2 make it to noble?

@messayisto You don't need any special skills to create an issue on Gitlab. This platform is open to all users.
Just go to this page: (create an account the first time)
https://gitlab.com/dekkan/dekko/-/issues
Then fill out the form with as many details as possible.
This is accessible to everyone so that users can report issues.
I myself have created several issues on Gitlab even though I have absolutely no IT skills....*I have provided you with a direct link to Gitlab for the Dekko2 application. Of course, each project has its own section.

@messayisto I appreciate the reports and info gathering you've done on what apps are working in Noble. App ecosystem is often make or break for those of us daily driving UT.
Note though that Dekko is not a core system app, and as such is not the realm of the UBports Foundation.Whether or not Dekko or another email client should be a core app is another matter, but with the small crew of devs already doing so much, I'd be hesitant to suggest adding to the workload.
At present Dekko hasn't been updated in 15 months and likely needs somebody to take the reins.

@wally said in Will Dekko2 make it to noble?:

While it is true that there hasn't been a new release of Dekko2 in a while, the GitLab repo is still active with discussions and PR's and merges. I expect a new release will happen along with, or before noble.

@stanwood Like yesterday opening an account on gitlab is failing - I don`t get an verification code to verify my email adress. I will wait a few days and try again, maybe with another email -? But thank you for your answer and the link.
-
@arubislander Thanks for the correction:-) Good to know!
-
@kristatos could you also write E-mails without crashing Dekko2?
-
@sudo2017 No, not under noble. But let's wait if there is coming a new release as @arubislander said. Maybe it's already prepared for noble and will address these issues.
-
In the beta Release Dekko 2 still crash, if you try to open a E-Mail and if you try to write a E-Mail.
-
@messayisto As far as I know there is a version of Dekko 2 being tested at present that works on Noble.
The version I have works well but there are no settings available so you have to enter all accounts at set up. Not ideal.
Edit: and I needed to completely remove the old version of Dekko so double not ideal. -
@Lakotaubp Where did you grab it from?
-
@messayisto Can't find link just now but this is the link for the latest Noble work https://gitlab.com/dekkan/dekko/-/jobs/10957539466

With the latest release of Dekko it's working like expected under noble
-
@kristatos yes, really enjoying this!! only the counter is counting still like hell, but thats unimportant. - a huge thanks to all involved!!

I can sign in properly and it loads my inbox like a charm, but when i click on an email trying to open it, the app crashes and it throws me back to the launcher or desktop of UT. Simply put cant open any emails. Anyone?
-
@Nocflounder This is exactly the behaviour before yesterdays update - did you install it already? After the update ( version 0.5.0) Dekko is opening Mails, at least on my device ( oneplus nird n10).
-
@messayisto, it worked on my dekko 2 before, but I am on Dekko2 0.5 an it starts crashing dekko2 when opening an E-Mail from to E-Mail list e.g. of the inbox on my volla 22.
