      Hi,

I'm getting frustrated because the last word I type in the previous box is always added into a new box when I click on it. I end up having to delete the previous word each time ... which is a bit annoying.

For example: When I'm using mail.google.com I type Ben into the To: field and then when I click on the Subject: field I end up with Ben then whatever I'm typing e.g. BenHi

It happens on other websites too, but this one is the most irritating, probably because I use it most often. Is there any way to stop it happening?

      Thanks,
      Naomi

@happyzenith Hi which device are you using? I get this issue on my m10 fhd and it was reported as a bug and was being looked into. I must admit I haven't checked up for a while to see the current status. You could look up Ubports bug reports on GitHub sorry but don't have the link to hand. If no one else comes back to you will find it later.

@happyzenith A long standing bug, hopefully will be dealt with on 16.04 XENIAL.

@doniks yes, multiple times, it should be fixed with XENIAL, they found the issue and a ,,cure for it,,

@happyzenith On my M10 HD tablet, I've discovered that if you go to System Settings, Language & Text and turn of all the autocorrect features the "last word typed" problem no longer persists.

@dtarrant I should have typed “turn off". Sorry, my bad.

I occasionally get something similar especially in sailbook when tag who I am responding to and type a comma after the name, it repeats part of the name, which is hard to edit as backspace tends to remove part of the highlighted name. This is very difficult to correct, but easier now I know to hold down the spacebar and slide my finger along it to move the cursor position.

I get this all the time using my OnePlus One and my M10, when using web apps or the browser. I have a continual sync issue with my Telegram, so I have to use the web app version. The only thing that I have found resolves this is to add a space at the end of the last word. A bit of a pain but better than deleting the long last word. I hope this is resolved soon.

This fixed it for me on bq M10 HD tablet and bq aquarius E4.5 (tested on https://cryptpad.fr which was really annoying to use before) - thanks for the workaround, @dtarrant !

Cool, thanks. I've turned off spell checking and word suggestions (and left auto correction on) and it seems to have worked 😃 Now all I've got to do is remember how to spell everything!
