        @keneda said in Wish list : which apps do you need?:

        @dobey needs any help for fixing

        This is the first time I've seen this sentence!

        It's more like: Dobey's help is urgently needed to fix... šŸ™‚

          But I'm sure he has a lot on his plate so a little help won't hurt.

              @moem The regular ESPN CBS Sports Fox Sports, but after I wrote this I remembered the Webber App does a pretty job with more simple apps like these.

                Video chat would be great, heck since it can run native C++, it might be able to do really performant video chat compared to Java based solutions, what would be really awesome would be some l33t h4x0rs reverse engineering the other video chat protocols and making a OSS client that's compatible with the other major clients, like apple video chat and google video chat and microsoft video chat and zoom video chat and uh, whatsapp video chat, etc. Then you have like one app with notifications that can just handle all the other video apps and connect to them and their protocols, like how Pidgin used to do instant messaging with all the other IM clients back in the day.

                    A streaming app capable of connecting to several streaming services (spotify, icecast, podcast services, etc.) would be very nice.

                    Also a browser capable of connecting to sites craving high security (bank service, et all) will be highly appreciated. šŸ˜‰

                      Webgl, definetely.
                      It would open the door to all scratch (and any other html5) apps and games

                                check out Memo for the to do list.

                                for dark mode, I have some commmands that can be run, if we can get a sudo access type of app, I started trying to make this:

                                but having problems getting qprocess to use sudo, and not really the best way to do this, but if someone wants to help:

                                        Button {
                                            id: button2
                                            objectName: "button"
                                            color: UbuntuColors.green
                                            anchors {
                                                horizontalCenter: parent.horizontalCenter
                                                top: button.bottom
                                                topMargin: units.gu(2)
                                           }
                                            width: parent.width

                                            text: i18n.tr("disable amplified volume")

                                            onClicked: {
                                            var popup = PopupUtils.open(passwordPopup)
                                              popup.accepted.connect(function(password) {

                                qprocess.start("bash", [ "-c echo" + password + " | sudo -S mirbacklight 0"])

                                              }) `

                                also have a way to get the lowest possible screen brightness - both run in a safe way that resets when you lock/unlock the screen šŸ™‚

                                      @domubpkm It's hard to trust. Like Dekko 2 requires me to use my account information inside the app and it still doesn't work after hours of trying. So I had to give up on that.

                                      But maybe that's just me not knowing how mail clients work. I mostly use the browser or the gmail app by google before.

                                        @quget It is normally because the account settings security/port wise do not come accross correctly. You need to find a working version of the account settings and check both the incoming and outgoing are correct. Also for Google you need to activate Trust unsecure apps or whatever it's now called in your Google account security settings.
                                        Dekko works well when set up (at least for me) not perfect but works. The other option is to use Webber from the OpenStore and create your own web app. Quite straight forward to use too.
