Most wanted features for Morph?
-
For me, some appreciated features would be:
- option to move adress bar to the bottom of the screen
- quick toggle (in burger menu) for desktop mode for one tab only
- option to swipe address bar to change tab left or right
In other words I'm really quite happy already, more than anything just keep up the great work!
Edit: Another thing I realized I miss is a forced dark mode - basically a way to force white text on black background for all web sites. Opera for Android has it and I loved it. Not exactly top priority stuff though.
-
At this stage, many pull requests https://github.com/ubports/morph-browser/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Apr are waiting to be merged that will improve morph-browser.
It's not forbidden to dream for still other features, but one must be aware that even this work of control and merging, by those who are in charge of it, takes a lot of time. If already some of what is pending is incorporated into OTA-14, that will be good! -

It won't as OTA-14 is already frozen, but maybe for OTA-15?
Btw, what I really miss from Morph is trackers blocker.
-
As OTA-14 is in a freeze, I made beta build of Morph browser with yet unmerged features. You can install with
sudo ubports-qa install PR_morph-browser_401
-
@danqo6 Crashes immediately after splash screen on my 6p - might be related to the fact that I'm running Qt 5.12.
Love the new icon though!
-
Yes, for Qt 5.12 it doesn't work, it needs to be built for that separately, I am not sure how to do that.
-
Save password retrival would be indeed nice, and again there might be a Floss solution based on Nextcloud already.
Maybe there is a way to integrate with this via the code found in this extension:

If I had a built in adblocker and syncing with Firefox Morph would be perfect, but honestly I like it a lot as is
-
@ImmyChan There is an Adblocker for UT: https://open-store.io/app/uadblock.mariogrip
As for syncing with Firefox... that would be rather complicated I think. But see above for alternative similar suggestions. For example with the Floccus extension one can sync bookmarks to a WebDAV server from Firefox and Chromium, and if a similar option was included in Morpth, that would really help. -
This could be another interesting way to sync bookmarks:
https://www.xbrowsersync.org/
(and an instance for use with UT devices could be hosted by the Ubports foundation) -
webrtc enabling microphone and camera.

Hi all,
I think it is a gteat feature, that we can now close tabs by swiping to left or right. But since then it happened to me quite often that I accidentaly closed tabs I didn't wanted to close. I wish there was a function like alt+ctrl+t (open recently closed tab). -
I would like a adblocker in Morph, since I can't seem to get uadblock to work on my phone.
-
Hi @janc
If not done yet, you can open a new thread so we can try and help you with uadblock... -
@janc Someone just needs to steal it from Angelfish

Save Username and Password. See here.
This, locally.
Also it'd be convinient to have a quick way to search a word(s) selection in a search engine, for now you have to select+copy+open new tab+paste+enter wich is very unpleasant to do.
-
I don't like the Tab Switching in this browser at all!
If you could simply make it work like it does in Firefox for Android (before the current redesign!) then that would be great!
A Dark Mode wouldn't be a bad idea either...
-
@nero355 Telling us why you don't like it may be more helpful I understand that it's not perfect. Currently, what I don't like is that the tab bars aren't easily distinguishable so it's hard to look for a specific tab based on the title. And also making it a bit smoother and more performant would be good too.
-
@nero355
You can enable dark mode with UTTT.
Morph is dark on my device.
But not all websites as it is up to each one to make its own dark mode, not to Morph. For the tabs, it work quite well for me. Sliding from the botom sometime is hard to trigger, but most of time works like a charm.

Hard to trigger/Not reliable enough!
I think a nice temporary solution would be that you simply tap the little "Tab box" so to speak (which shows the number of Tabs when more than 1 is open) and you get to see all your Tabs
You mention UTTT : I assume you mean Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool made by someone outside the Ubuntu Touch Team ?
Is it a reliable peace of software ?
I believe it can control a lot of stuff stuffed away very deep in the OS if I remember correctly ?!Also : Why isn't it adopted as "The Official Tool" so to speak by the UBports Team ??
