Sound notifications should have a configuration to repeat the notification each 10 minutes (this time could be also a setting) until checked by the user. It should repeat at least 3 or 4 times, or number of repetitions should be also configurable. I'm missing this feature since my Palm days.

After playing with the r2 release there are a few more things that I would like to see in r3:
-
notifications to open or delete dekko emails
-
browser tab size to be increased
-
keyboard to always show when typing
-
tap wake up
-
greater vpn support in specific app
-
regular updates

I was thinking about on screen time, date and stats during standby, activated when the device is not in the pocket - based on the proximity sensor. Such a behaviour was present on N9 Meego.

I would ask a BIGGER FONT (and more aesthetic layout) for INCOMING CALLS. Without glasses I hardly see who is calling.
@ratte and other ask for caldav and carddav support. Actually it is implemented already. I finally manage to sync with a horde server, there are different threads in "askubuntu", and not all work for me, but finally I got it. I wrote the sync command and eventually launch it from "scriptor" app. The CALENDAR APP is not very good, but I wish it had a SYNC BUTTON, just launching in cli "syncevolution CONFIG_NAME".
CUSTOM SOUNDS FOR NOTIFICATIONS and their REPEATABILITY would be great, just in case we miss to hear it once.
A home scope/screen where the items to show and their size is customizable.
@abernator You could remove "SD card found" notification, from "System Settings --> Notifications" and deselecting the notifications within the "External Drives" app.

@mariogrip
Hi.
Hi would love to have printing abilities build intro the OS. I would als think it nice to be able to block unvelcome phone calls and sms. Having the posibility to phone over mesh-networks, wifi and other "non-standard- phone-networks", would besværet cool too.

Maybe someone could make a table of all the good proposals or feature requests and we can all vote up/down the requests and have at the end a list what matters most.
I started but have to go now: plesae continue. As lack of an idea where to put I created it on the wiki

Hi
I think it'd be really good if the Scope/apps page could be summoned by the Ubuntu button, as it was with Unity8 and is with Yunit. -
I would like to see customizable scopes.
In a way like:
Give me a empty scope page.
Let me choose content out of the data of the installed apps.OTA3 could provide a way for the app devellopers, so that they could theach there apps how to send content to a customizable scope.
And what I relay would like to have is a better way to set the cursor position in a text.

I have N5 as daily driver now.
Few things that comes to mind..
- Of course I want known bugs to be fixed..
- Somekind of simple system monitor where you could see open processes, their cpu and ram usage.
- Power saving options, eg. disable all logging..
- HDR mode to Camera.
- Magnifying glass or some simple zoom when selecting text.
-
First of all. THANK YOU devs! I love you guys.
Ok so I am trying very hard now to stay with UT *ubports to be my daily use device. The first priority should be always bugfixes.
About features:1-for me is a must to have at least one real working good communication service, right now Telegram is the right one but as others reported it already. It works weird when the 4g/wifi connectivity get lost. Also no audio calls, no supergroups yet.
I know that there is umatriks in very very hard development with huge steps forwards but still not there and most important, not ready for the masses.2-Better Scopes integration is a neat feature.
3-Browser..... the actual browser is amazingly great for me to be honest. But it needs a few improvements to be very good. I would love to see a revamp in the tabs, and better support for modern web pages.
4-When writing a message, a better more accurate keyboard would be nice. As someone suggested. The magnifying glass as the Iphone OS has would be a good solution when trying to edit a message/text.
I think this is everything. I just need a good messenger to keep in touch with my family. Sadly LoquiIM is stills under development and for now its very unusable for me because I keep receiving DECRYPT error.. so no whatsapp for me. Skype just let me make voice calls that is good at least. It will be good to have something like Jitsi working.

I made webapps (webapp creator) for telegram and whatsapp. They both have web ui with web-browser. Those are good enough for me.

Quoting myself:
- rebooting and shutdown problem is annoying. Phone freezes always. If battery is low and phone tries to shutdown itself, it freezes and display backlight stays on untill battery is dead. If I force reboot, then I have to reboot second time because any app wont open..
Maybe that Simple System Monitor should contain these features..
- cpu and mem usage, total and per process
- running processes
- possibility to kill/restart processes if they freezes
-
Me again. I forgot a couple of things.
Browser and Dekko, and any other app, should give the chance to save downloaded files or attachments in any place through the file manager (great the new dev version).
In case we only want to open it, in Document Viewer for example, it should be saved in a temporary file for later deletion.
Once opened, in case we want to save it, Document Viewer should have a SAVE AS option to save it wherever we want. -
Thank you to everyone who has submitted feedback in this topic. I've just run through it and noted almost all of the possible (AKA: would not require a UX redesign or other major overhauls) enhancements we could make to the OS. This was partially so that I had something to calm me down after the day, partially because I wanted to try my new note-scanner app on my freedom-hating phone.
As you can see, Bluetooth got the most mentions in this thread, closely followed by adding the cursor movement in the on-screen keyboard. Let's see what we can do to get that rolling.
Please excuse my manuscript.
