Neither Libertine nor Anbox is anything other than a temporary fix. We need to build apps suitable for use on touchscreen devices (across platforms).

SearX search engine for Morph, please
Hello,
I was wondering if searx.info could be added to the list of search engines in the Morph browser.
Thank you.

RE: Wish list : which apps do you need?
There is one (exclusive to iOS) app that I miss from my iPhone 3 days - a very simple to use, but powerful database app called TapForms.
I could really use something like that on UT if anyone would care to make it.

Ah okay - a page refresh sorted that. Thank you. -

There's been an update today, and I'm pleased to report that this very useful app is working again!
Thanks, Tim.

With respect... Ubuntu Touch was touted as the OS suitable for all use-cases: that was the whole point of convergence.I wonder if, slowly, measure by measure, we're losing parts of the original vision.

Nevertheless, he's right: some apps are only relevent for the phone. All unnecessary apps ought to be removable*. My bug-bear is the external storage app on the N5.This isn't just a phone os.
And Go away and use Android ought never to be the response of someone who takes a moderator role on this board.
I know that the real reason is that the apps were baked in.

It was good to see an update of the Calendar app this morning: I've often thought that the flipside to a calendar app - using the same resources - is a ToDo list... Perhaps the maintainer might consider adding that functionality. (They could perhaps take inspiration from nitrotsks)

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 86 Saturday 10th Of October AT 19:00 UTC
I'll second that...
A "Search your computer" function like Unity7 had would be a valuable feature... especially as things often seem to get put in nether regions.
Not a top priority though.

RE: New Ubuntu Bootlogos Now available
I'd been thinking (since the logo on the back of the PinePhone) that the Bootlogo for UT might be simplified to just a monochome 3D Yumi head... i.e. UT is big enough now not to need "UT for N5", or whatever: it can stand on its own.

Yes! I watched in some horror as a friend of mine took the back off his... I'm not at all keen to do that - I'll take it into one of those phone repair shop places. They can have that stress! -

@Alter said in Is my N5's battery giving up after 7 years...:
@Bramble Just wondered if switching channel to stable improved battery life for you?
Thank you for the concern. Sadly, changing channels did not solve the issue: A new battery it's going to have to be.

Yumi's disappeared from the browser tab... Perhaps a design decision? -
