Has the foundation managed to have a German bank account? As a patreon-user since 2017 from Gemany I would prefer to transfer my little monthly share directly to the foundation.

@Vehi_MV Phone is back! Flashed it with the latest installation tool (0.4.3 beta) and rc-image but without the wipe-option. Everything is at it's place again. happy again☺

@Vehi_MV said in Stuck on the nexus5 powered by Ubuntu screen:

      @3arn0wl
Same thing happened to me today on my BQ e4.5.
Sadly not even flashing a fresh image solves the problem.

After a successful flash the phone reboots and it is stuck on BQ powered by ubuntu screen.

Just read yesterdays post of UniversalSuperbox (Dalton Durst), who recommended to switch from devel to rc-channel. but yesterday i had no time to study that and missed it. ☹ The phone is in a boot loop, can't turn it of. Any idea?

Same here, on E 4.5 about half an hour ago, the update was 35 mb. Pwr and Vol up brings up the boot menu, choosing recovery had no effect.

    • RE: Scopes on the 16.04........

@rubencarneiro I am about to update now to 16.04 by OTA-4. I will surely miss the scopes, especially the today scope, that was a bit of a game changer and made my Uphone outstanding from 2015 on. Thank you for your work in 15.04. I am no programmer, so I cannot estimate the amount of work to relaunch the scopes. I will propose the return of the scopes.

    • RE: Today scope now without weather information

@doniks @kazord First I have to say that I am glad to see more and more people telling us, they are missing the weather scope too. I looked into the python code "weatherchannel.py" where in row 460 it starts to call weather.com. So, as I am no programmer, I assume, that code has to be changed properly to get the information from another available source . It's never too late to learn programming. I will try to find out, what has to be done, but expect no wonder. Maybe a skilled person can make the changes much faster. My spare time for this project is limited. Any hints where to start best are welcome.

@kazord I am no programmer, but I assume that the scope's code just has to be changed a little to get the data from a different source. If someone is able to do that all people on this thread would be very thankful. Otherwise I would try to get into that adventure.

    • RE: Today scope now without weather information

@Lakota You nailed it, the first glance of the opened phone screen looks bare and a bit disappointing now. Should we file a bug or a feature request? I think so, if there are a few more similar complaints in this thread.

    • Today scope now without weather information

A few days ago, maybe it was Oct. 1st, the weather information vanished, I think it was at the same time, when the weather channel scope was blank. Could it be, Canonical has not renewed their API-key or whatever was necessary for that kind of service? Is it possible to have / to build a new scope for that purpose? It was a very convenient feature for me on the home screen. Any idea?

@JoeBeach Hope they will make it, I did a 20$ pledge two weeks ago, wishing this could help. Anyone able to spare that sum, should do it soon.

    • RE: Daily usable ?

fmulcar does not like our beloved phone system. He is trolling us for quite a while along the ubuntu-phone-list. He should stay with the system of his choice. Keep him outside, his comments were at least useless and sometimes offending. Just my opinion, hope it was not too harsh. Have a nice day and ignore him.

    • Show that you are using UBports

Hey, as I use a bumper case for my BQ 4.5 in transparent orange, I made an inlay in black and white/gray, which shines through the case. It is made with inkscape in svg-format using the nice little robot and the text 'UBports' on top and 'ubuntu' at the bottom. You can use it or adjust the dimensions to your needs. There is also a png-version to look directly at.

@UniSuperBox Hello, I am used to Launchpad for translating and reviewing German Ubuntu strings. I looked a bit in transifex, to do some missing strings for the "Fahrplan"-App in UT. Transifex is not my favourite. At the moment I will explore the use of an POeditor.

    • RE: Internationalization, Translators

@Flohack Hello, beginning in early 2015 I do frequently translations and reviews from English to German in Launchpad for Ubuntu. You can find me there as my alter-ego "schuko24" (https://launchpad.net/~gerd-saenger). If something is missing in UBports or left to be polished, I would be glad to help out. Where should I start or where do I have to search first?

    • RE: Today scope without showing day scope

@cherrie Just installed the the click-package that marcokarlo provided. Rebooted the phone and: tadaaa, the day is back on the screen.

I copied the package into the download-folder on the phone, then used phablet-shell with this command: "pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted Downloads/com.canonical.scopes.day_1.5.2_armhf.click" (Command provided here: http://daniel-beck.org/howto-install-click-packages/).

      Many, many thanks to marcokarlo!

    • RE: Today scope without showing day scope

@darkeye The missing scope must be this one https://launchpad.net/day-scope. Any idea to get this thing back into the phone or into sphere of ubports? Marius Quabeck mentioned in the Telegram-Supergroup, that the code could be proprietary and therefore misses in the images. I wonder if the maintainers of the package (not downloadble) could give a little help.

    • Today scope without showing day scope

Last weekend I flashed ubports-image to my E 4.5. What I am missing now in today scope is the day number and information about sunrise and moon phases. That was displayed on top of the screen before. Marius Quabeck filed a bug in launchpad more than a year ago (https://bugs.launchpad.net/today-scope/+bug/1547007). Is there a way have the dayscope back. The screen looks naked without it.
