@alter Thanks, that's pretty bad. In my case, I have the key in a back-up from end of December. Can I wrangle the old (=correct) key somehow into the current Axolotl file tree?

Were you able to get your mesages back?

RE: Axolotl - All messages & contacts gone after "Your registration is faulty. Please consider to register again."
@fla Okay, does this mean that I should have waited and it was wrong to re-register? But what shall I do to get my messages and contacts back?
Is it maybe possible to copy the old registration/key files from the old December back-up on the device? The idea would be to copy over the files from the Dec2020 back-up of the folder "local/share/.storage/identity" folder, or anything similar. Do you think this could work to get back to the situation before re-registration?

@phoenixlandpirat Thanks, I added a bug report (same info as here in the forum) at https://github.com/nanu-c/axolotl/issues/317

RE: Axolotl - All messages & contacts gone after "Your registration is faulty. Please consider to register again."
@phoenixlandpirat Oh, that's pretty bad news.
I have a manual back-up via ADB from end of December and just made a new one (after re-registration). The messages seem to be still on the device, so is there really no way to make them again visible in Axolotl?

Axolotl - All messages & contacts gone after "Your registration is faulty. Please consider to register again."
Today, Axolotl showed the error message: "Your registration is faulty. Please consider to register again."
I clicked on the option of this error message to unregister and the registered again.
Now all old messages / chat history and contacts are gone! Can you help me how I can retrieve/show these again? Thank you very much!

RE: Axolotl - no contact import or creation possible
@ma I didn't do anything with contacts, but I also get the message "Your registration is faulty. Please consider to register again."
Attention: The dialog recommends to delete the registration and registering again. Registering again seems to delete all chats!!! Is there any way to get the chats back? Thanks in advance.

RE: Volla phone ubports
@duportail I noticed this once. After a reboot, I got a couple of SMS and a missed call. However, I don't know under what conditions this happens.

RE: Easy fix possible? Issue of not readable time on Volla Phone display with rounded corners?
@sander-klootwijk Just as a follow-up: After some days of using the fix, I am very happy. It works perfectly and there is no regression over the original .qml file.
The only thing I needed to get used to is the following: Since the Volla Phone doesn't have a notification LED, the only sign that there is a notification is the green envelope in the menu bar. Since I tend to switch off Bluetooth, the BT icon is not shown anymore in the menu bar (makes the entire menu bar shorter). When doing so, the green envelope is hidden by the notch. The same would have happened with the switches for location and rotation. Is there maybe a setting in the .qml files that disables this kind of dynamic menu bar so that always all icons are shown?

RE: Easy fix possible? Issue of not readable time on Volla Phone display with rounded corners?
@stanwood Thanks for joining this issue on the time not being readable on Volla Phone.
To your off-topic question, see: https://github.com/HelloVolla/ubuntu-touch-beta-tests/issues/37 I have the same problem, but I tend to push the power button for five seconds to hard reboot the device; this works for the fast boot issue.

Easy fix possible? Issue of not readable time on Volla Phone display with rounded corners?
I really like the Volla Phone with UBPorts. However, there is this a simple, but annoying bug:
It is not possible to read the exact time in the top right corner of the notification bar, because the Volla Phone's display has rounded corners. E.g. when it is 21:19, the "9" is not readable, but hidden behind the round corner of the screen.I just wondered whether there can be an easy fix for this issue? The clock just needs to have ~3mm spacing to the right edge. If it is difficult to get such a setting into the Ubuntu Touch image, maybe it is easier to have a setting for this in the UT Tweak Tool? What do you think?
I think these two bugs are related, but try to rather find a thorough solution for the entire problem for displays with notch:
"Camera Notch interferes with notification bar at top of screen in Ubuntu Touch. #2"
https://github.com/HelloVolla/ubuntu-touch-beta-tests/issues/2"UI support for the phones with a notch #523"

RE: Publish Q&A into PeerTube
That would be perfect, if the Ubuntu Touch Videos (Q&A etc.) would be on PeerTube.
For example, these instances (https://joinpeertube.org/) could be suitable for the UBports team:

RE: Best recent phone hardware for install ?
@domubpkm
I can recommend the Volla Phone with UbPorts (https://volla.online/). It is a versatile phone and quite stable here. I did not encounter any bigger issues. However, there are some open bugs here:
https://github.com/HelloVolla/ubuntu-touch-beta-tests/issues
I hope that the development team will iron them out. Here is an overview of the current implementation status:

RE: OTA-13 Released!!
@Dolf Same here, update on OPO was just fine (so far tested: phone, cellular data, wifi, bluetooth, audio, all fine). Thanks!

What do you mean by "closed"? I see that you still can preorder the Volla phone at Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/volla-phone-free-your-mind-protect-your-privacy#/) or by email at https://volla.online/; and they seem to be ironing out the last issues in the Ubuntu Touch port: https://github.com/HelloVolla/ubuntu-touch-beta-tests/wiki/High-level-epic-overview-for-Ubuntu-Touch-port

RE: wifi doesnt work in OPO
Here, Wifi works nicely on my OPO.
What is the problem? Does it not find the Wifi subsystem at all or is it not able to connect? Does it show a list of available Wifis?

RE: German corona app
@htc_tattoo That's pretty true that software does not keep you safe. The goal of the app is different, though.
It gives you a warning when you were close enough to infected people. Then you are advised to do a corona test. If you are tested positive you get a QR code from the doctor and with that code entered in the app you can send a warning to the other phones. Only those phones that have had registered your id on their phones (not anywhere else), because they were too close to you, will also display a warning, and so forth.
This makes sense and if too many people are tested (~20% false alarms) that doesn't really matter. Of course, it is not a replacement to social distancing, mask, washing hands, etc.
