RE: Looking for new maintainer / developer for TextSecure / Signal app
@flohack Thanks for the info on the (non)progress talking to OWS. It is really weird how OWS handles community activities.
In the meanwhile Aaron has continuously updated the Signal app and it works well, so far: https://open.uappexplorer.com/app/textsecure.nanuc
RE: Design issue? When talking on phone, my ear switches on the flight mode. Do you have the same issue?
@dobey Thanks for your reply. How can I test it whether there is a bug related to the proximity sensor or touch digitizer?
Intuitively, the touch digitizer does not seem to be disabled.
Design issue? When talking on phone, my ear switches on the flight mode. Do you have the same issue?
I would like to report a small design problem in the UBPorts UI, which is simple, but can be quite annoying:
It happens to me quite frequently, that - while talking to someone on phone - my ear switches on the flight mode in UBPorts. Of course, the connection immediately terminates and it takes some time until I can call the other person again (after disabling the flight mode again).
Apparently my ear "navigates" through the top menu bar of my smartphone while talking on phone and somehow activates the flight mode. Does anyone else also experience this issue?
I have had the issue already with my BQ 4.5 and also experience it with my OPO. It also not a new issue, but it occurred already in the old Ubuntu Touch.
After updating to 16.04 : Webapps uMastonauts and Duolingo don't work. They just have white background.
after updating to 16.04, the webapps uMastonauts and Duolingo do not seem to work anymore. They do start, but the background just remains white, so that they are unusable. The other webapps on my OPO seem to work.
Even if I uninstall and reinstall the apps from openstore, they don't work.
I tested it on OPO and BQ M10. The webapps have the same problem on both devices.
Do you have any idea how to fix this issue? Thanks
EDIT: with regard to uMastonauts, it seems to be a know issue with 16.04: https://github.com/ChristianPauly/uMastodon/issues/6
RE: Donate anonymously 1€/$ by year to UBports, all Ubuntu Touch users can do it ! Demonstration...
@flohack Thanks for your message. Do you know when the legal foundation will become reality?
RE: Telegram issues today
please send a bug report here: https://github.com/ubports/telegram-app/issues
I had another problem with the Telegram update the day before yesterday and Flohack was so kind to help me out (https://github.com/ubports/telegram-app/issues/151)
RE: Universal Easy Installer
@rossrosh: Like Flohack said, the UBPorts installer exists and works great, see here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/976/ubports-installer-excellent-user-experience
RE: offline navigation for ubports
OSMScout used to be a quite usable offline maps and routing app. It has migrated to OpenStore: https://open.uappexplorer.com/app/osmscout.fransschreuder
The issue is that I cannot download maps anymore. The links to the maps (inside the app) seem to be broken. Has anyone news or a solution for this?
RE: [HowTo][OPO]Fix MTP driver permissions
Thanks @Flohack, your HowTo worked perfectly.
Step 1 did not work on my OPO, so I had to put it manually into recovery mode (Powerbutton + volume down for a few seconds (while it is switched of)). Then steps 2 - 12 went smoothly. Thanks for the HowTo!!!
@rocky58: If adb reports "device offline", then it sometimes helps to simply wait for a few seconds or to unplug and plug in again the USB cable. This worked for me.
