RE: Shop not working
The error message is still there, I get it every time I open an ubports-page outside the forum. After pressing the "OK" - button, the pages seem to work fine - I didn't order anything to check it ;-)!
This is the error box; I use an up-to-date firefox 100.0, running on Ubuntu 20.04.

RE: Shop not working
Hi!
Something's still amiss; I get an error when opening the shop; message as follows:

I've seen it on other ubports pages as well...

RE: How to manually change the screen orientation ?
Hi!
Perhaps it is an "app issue"? Some apps are restricted to a certain screen orientation. You could check in ~.local/share/applications, in the .desktop files. Some apps have a setting called
X-Ubuntu-Supported-Orientations=
Possible values are
primary, portrait, inverted-portrait, landscape, inverted-landscape
perhaps it helps to change it there.

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 I have another BQ Aquaris m10 FD running Ubuntu Touch; the wifi bug is still not solved, so I can't use both devices within the WIFI network at home - I tried to change the address, but didn't succeed.
The whole thing started out when I tried to use twrp on the m10, I wanted to root it and to try Lineage or something similar... But that's a different story. -
RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
OK, sometimes you don't see the forest for the trees... FInally I was able to use the flash tool; a little "sudo" helped a lot...
I reinstalled an Android 8.1 version, and afterwards I was able to use fastboot to relock the device.
Thanks for your support!

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 I could try, but I doubt if that changes anything. After a night of reboot loops the battery is more or less drained, the device is "shut down". But as soon as I connect an usb cable and power is provided again, the boot loop starts again, too.
Is there some hard reset tool available for Ubuntu Linux to force a reset? I found something like that, but it seems to be a windows tool.
EDIT: Tried to disconnect and then press the power button; as soon as I reconnect, the device tries to loop again, even with the the almost drained battery it vibrates about every 5 seconds. Same behavior as before with the charged battery.

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 No chance using the vol+ button that way, the device just just keeps looping, no matter in which order I push or release buttons. I have already opened up the device, have to check how to disconnect the battery. I think I saw a youtube video somewhere how to replace the battery, I'll search for that.
EDIT: I was able to disconnect it, but as soon as I reconnect the battery, the loop starts as before....

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 It simply does not switch of, it keeps restarting...
-
RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 No use, no matter for how long I press the power button, it keeps looping into the same state. I guess I have to wait till the battery is completely drained before I can try anything at all.
lsusb does not show the device, it shows up only when I keep power, vol+ and vol- pressed at the same time. adb does not find it, not fastboot, no matter if I use USB2 or USB3 ports. I tried different cables as well (and those worked with the ubports installer).

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
@mrt10001 thanks, but that doesn't help me at all. As I wrote I can' t access the device. The boot loop persists, no matter what I do. It reboots every 5- to 10 seconds, showing the same message:
"Orange State
Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted.
Your device will boot in 5 seconds"I can't turn it off, it just keeps rebooting to show the orange state message.

RE: M10 HD on boot loop after trying usbports-installer
Hi!
I have a similar problem - after unlocking my bq m10 FD it ended up in
"Orange State", and a boot loop, and I am not able to stop that boot loop or get access to the device via fastboot, or adb or the flash tool. Angela_92 wrote she had been able to break that loop. Unfortunately she did not mention how she was able to stop that loop... Any ideas on that?THX

RE: Installing Ubuntu Touch and SP Flash Tool
@mds08011
If you are using an ubuntu machine to install, it could help to temporarily remove the package modemmanagersudo apt-get remove modemmanager sudo service udev restart
You can reinstall it after you are done flashing the bq; see:

RE: Pure maps can't use offline maps anymore.
Hi!
rinigus just published a bugfix-release, so the gpx routing ist working again!

RE: Pure maps can't use offline maps anymore.
Hi!
I have a problem with gpx-support too, since the last version update; I'm on bq m10 hd (dev), on my fairphone2 (rc) it still works with version 2.3.0. Did the update break something?

RE: How to import a gpx.track into pure maps/Unav?
@rinigus
Please keep the gpx-features, its just great for hiking or bicycle trips. Right now I'm planing bicycle trips, which works ok, as long as the tracks don't include cross country parts on fields or similar.Correcting tracks is an option to use older tracks (as provided by my android ADFC bicycle map app, which is able to export the tracks).
-
RE: How to import a gpx.track into pure maps/Unav?
@rinigus
I found the reason, at least for some of the problems. gpx smart fails when it encounters an "impossible" situation (e.g. the gpx track leads across a street which is not supposed to be crossed; or wants to lead through a one-way-street in the wrong direction; older tracks might have small errors because streets have changed, or an u-turn wasn't corrected after a wrong turn had occurred when recording the original gpx-track ; a round trip had the start and end point overlapping, so gpx smart just connected the short distance between those two points ). So the solution here could be a more tolerant error handling.I was able to fix some tracks using GpsPrune, but that is really cumbersome...
-
RE: How to import a gpx.track into pure maps/Unav?
@rinigus
Very good idea!"GPX smart" works great if the route is just "one-way"; when I try to render a gpx-track which consists of routes that are circular or include alternative ways only a part is shown, which unfortunatly isn't very smart ;-). Perhaps you could have a look into that? Or should I open an issue someplace?

RE: UBports OS broken in my pinephone
So, now is the time to do it...
If you were able to "break" your phone using apt (which is not recommended at all, FYI...) it should not be a problem for you to install the ubport installer on your PC and just run it, following the fool proof instructions given...

RE: How to import a gpx.track into pure maps/Unav?
@NoelFlantier
Thanks! What a perfectly hidden feature! I knew I had seen something about gpx, but couldn't find it. It works, now I can get on tour with my bicycle
