Hi,

There really is no rush for this but it would be nice to have a French Canadian keyboard on UT. I understand that we are not a big potential user base like France or Germany but we do use a different keyboard. France uses AZERTY, French Switzerland uses QWERTZ and we use QWERTY. There is over 7 million people in Canada speaking french and using this layout:

I would do it but unfortunately I don't know how to code, yet. A QWERTY keyboard with french suggestions of words and french autocorrect and spell check would do the trick for me.

I was wondering if any of you are using ProtonVPN and if so, how I can set it up on my UT. There is only the option of setting it up manually and I couldn't find any info on Proton's website.

I'm in Valais (Wallis) Switzerland and I'd be very interested in meeting UT peers and learning few tricks from you guys. It will depend on my work schedule before I can confirm but weekend is definately more suitable.

I'd be very much interested in a IP/internet call app on UT. I'm sure we are not alone.

Oui comme "bf" le souligne, Signal fonctionne sur une tablet connectée uniquement sur WIFI. Par contre, pour créer un compte vous devez entrer un numéro de téléphone. Un code de vérification vous sera envoyé à ce numéro pour pouvoir acceder à votre compte. Autrement dit, installez Signal sur votre tablette et recevez votre code sur votre téléphone qui loge une carte SIM.

Je ne suis pas programmeur, mais j'utilise Signal depuis un certain temps, avant sur Android et maintenant sur UT.

De mon expérience personnelle, la version UT est très limitée comparativement à l'expérience "complète" d'Android.

Sur Android vous pouvez:

• Choisir de recevoir vos SMS directement dans l'app Signal qui les cryptes ou de les conserver séparément des messages Signal.
• Les destinataires reçoivent les SMS dans leur app de textos standards par défaut à moins qui eux aussi ont choisi l'option de les mettre dans Signal.
• Si vous désinstallez Signal, les SMS seront de nouveau gérer dans l'application par défaut.
• Je ne crois pas qu'il existe un mode d'emploi, par contre je vous assure que l'interface est très simple. Je vous suggère de l'installer sur Android avant, sur un deuxième appareil ou celui d'un ami pour voir ses fonctionnalités, c'est très bien fait et simple. Personnellement je préfère cette application à Telegram, Whatsapp et autres.

Pour ce qui est de la version actuellement en développement sur UT, malheurement beaucoup de fonctionnalités intéressantes sont manquantes.

• Pas d'appel Signal
• Pas de notifications
• Pas de messages de groupe
• Pas de SMS

Comme vous l'avez dit, un programmeur travaille présentement sur l'application, et cela avec le soutien de Open Whisper (derrière Signal), espérons que plusieurs fonctionnalités suivront!

Taking out the SD card as solved not only the heating and battery drain but it also enabled Gallery and the Camera app to work!

Thanks so much for helping me out!! I can now fully enjoy Fp2-UT as my primary device.

I turned off my phone and took the SD card out as I don't really need it. The internal storage of the phone is almost empty I'll try it today see how the battery performs and I'll get back at you. Thanks a lot

I tried it again with the command i as I am not quite sure what it is suppose to look like, here's what I got:

This is while being on airplaine mode, no data and wifi.
Is there a way or command I can execute to idle more my system?

I installed UT through the ubports installer on my MacOS as I don't have the skills yet to operate linux. The installation went smoothly, prior to installing UT I had the latest Android update.

My download issue comes with all kind of files, images, contact, calendar files...

As much as I love Ubuntu Touch, I have way too many issues to be able to appreciate it and use it as my primary device.

If someone could help me fix some of them I would really appriciate it.

• Phone is really hot on the top part of the back. When running or even just while charging.

• My battery goes from fully charged to dead in 2-3 hours. (Maybe related to the fact that it is heating?)

• I can't download things from the browser, it always say (Network error 301 protocol blob)

• Camera app not working, the display stay black (it is the older fp2 camera module).

• Gallery app not working, the display stay white with the charging wheel turning forever. I tried uninstalling both apps and redownloading but it is the same.

• Notes won't save.

I am a beginner/basic user so maybe there's some things I am not during right. Anyways, thnks for your time and help!

I am a graphic designer who just moved to Ubuntu Touch and I'm loving it so far. I've been wondering how I could help the community in some ways as I am not a developer and know nothing about coding.

If you're idea does come to life in a way or another, I'd be glad to give some of my time to review and tweak some visuals.

However, I think there's a balance to find so that everyone is happy. I think it is important for developers to respect the Canonical guidelines, after all it is because of the them that the design is so beautiful. On the other hand, we want things to go forward and make the process easy and simple for everyone. I'd be afraid the some developers get frustrated with your proposition.
