@3arn0wl
Same thing happened to me today on my BQ e4.5.
Sadly not even flashing a fresh image solves the problem.After a successful flash the phone reboots and it is stuck on BQ powered by ubuntu screen.

RE: Bug with the Music app
Hi.
I just tried that, and I can confirm the behaviour you described. (BQ Aquaris E4.5)
The Music App freezes, but the sound dropdown menu that also controls the media player still works. -
RE: KDE Connect
@einstein212
Hi. Have you been able to connect your phone with kdeconnect?I would like to try, but apt-get wants to install alot of kde packages.
No problem if it works. -
RE: [How-to] Changing default CPU governor.

RE: Dimming the display without locking
@guru
So I was playing around with dconf and it looks like the value for "activity-timeout" set with dconf does work.
It allso works after reboot. It is very strange that "dim-timeout" doesnt work.
I allso noticed that when changing "sleep when idle" in battery settings, that "dim-timeout" is always set 10 sec les than "activity-timeout".Edit:
It looks like "dim-timeout" is allways 10 sec less than "activity-timeout" even if you change "activity-timeout" with dconf.
If you for example change "activity-timeout" with dconf to 20 sec the display wil be dimmed after 10 seconds regardless what "dconf dump /com/ubuntu/touch/system/" says. -
RE: Dimming the display without locking
@guru
Hi. You can set the brightness of display from terminal.
For example if you want 50% brightness you can use the following command:
echo 50 > /sys/class/leds/lcd-backlights/brightness -
RE: "The" Bluetooth Thread
Hi. It's been a long time since this topic was created, so I would like to know if any progress has been made on bluetooth connectivity with cars and hands free systems.

RE: OTA2 'killed' my phone: bq E4.5 - no wifi & no mobile
@UKPhil
Hi. I had a similar experience with my bq E4.5. But on r1 (about 2 months after update). One day everything worked OK, and the next day no SIM card was detected. I took SIM cards out and cleaned them. It took 2 or 3 retrys before I got it working again. I'm pretty sure your problem is hardware related and has nonething to do with r2. -
RE: Mail Client
@Lakota
Thank you. Just swiping from left edge to show the launcher did the trick. -
RE: Mail Client
Installed DEKO2 on my BQ E4.5 and I can not add an account because onscreen keyboard does not come up at all. Is it just me or is anybody else having the same problems?

RE: OTA 3 suggestions: your wanted features

RE: OTA 3 suggestions: your wanted features
- You can make the file system writable with UT Tweak Tool: https://uappexplorer.com/app/ut-tweak-tool.sverzegnassi .
- Reboot
- Then you make a backup of original /etc/hosts file
- Copy your new hosts file to /etc/hosts
- Make file system read only with UT Tweak Tool
- Reboot
- Enjoy ad-free experience on your phone.

RE: OTA 3 suggestions: your wanted features
@RandomUser
This would be nice yes. At the moment I use hosts file from here: http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/ and It's doing a great job keeping ads away. -
RE: OTA 3 suggestions: your wanted features
I would like to see bluteooth getting some attention, so we could use the phone for calls in our cars.
Thank you. -
RE: September 2, 2017 UBports Community Update
I'm following milestones on github and It seems like bugs are being added to 15.04 OTA2 milestones. On one point it was 95% complete now we are at 85%. Shouldn't we close the bugs on OTA2 and add new bugs to OTA3? Otherwise we will never see OTA2.

RE: Daily usable ?
I'm using my BQ Aquaris E4.5 as daily driver from the begining (2015). It's ok for me, there are some anoyances from time to time, but nothing major. I must add, that I switched from a feature phone in 2015 to Ubuntu touch, and if UBports had not taken over, I would switch back to feature phone if my E4.5 died. For me at this moment there is no alternative to UBports in smartphone OS market.
If you are comming over from Android, IOS or maybe Windows, you must ask yourself if you can live withot the apps you are used to and are not available on UBports. OS itself is quite good. -
RE: "The" Bluetooth Thread
@advocatux
I think Bastos got autocorrected, it should be Pebble time round. -
RE: August 19, 2017 UBports Community Update
When can we expect 15.04 OTA-2 to be released? On Github milestones it shows 78% comlete but no due date.
