@mihael Not specifically for this problem, but it's better to avoid dragging around some Xenial slags.

@arubislander I updated to latest RC, which is planned to become OTA3. Camera issue still remains. The system in general is slower than before. For example, notification tones are sometimes delayed/ disturbed.

@lkroll said in OP5T failed to install UT using Ubuntu and Win10: @armchairFF Did you upgrade to the latest Oxygen OS before installing UT? I'd also recommend using the snap version of the Installer, as I had the best of luck with that. yes, latest official. I used (if I remember correctly) 0.1.0, 0.8.8 and 0.9.8 versions on Ubuntu 23.04 and none worked. They would start downloading files and then stop after a few seconds for no reason. Managed to do it on my Win10 box, which is kinda sad

Hello, Unfortunately, I rejoiced too quickly because the Notification Led Light after an external call or a received sms or message worked only 1 time after the update to ota-2. That's strange ...

Ok, update. OP5t on 20.04 stable won't update through the update channel. So it looks like the issue is back.

@Tartine Like I said, most accurate would be the official docs of the device

I finally managed to get it working. Thank you all for your help and advices. To do so, I used usb with MTP to transfer the ssh public key file generated on my computer to my OP5. After that I used the terminal on my phone to manipule files and folders using the phablet account. Note that this account seems not present in recovery mode. I followed the chapter 'configure your device' on that page, turned the wifi on, and enabled ssh. Now the ssh connection is working fine. I can now use the clickable --ssh option the develop on my OP5. Again, thank you all!!

Got it back to 20.04. Pretty simple if you do a lot of ROM installations: Download TWRP for for 5T (Dumpling) here. Attach the device to your PC in fastboot mode (bootloader) and install TWRP from the command line in the PC - ./fastboot flash recovery <location of your TWRP file> Boot into recovery, ensure the data partition is EXT4 and wipe cache and system. Reboot the phone to recovery. Download the stock ROM (OnePlus5TOxygen_43_OTA_004_all_1711152324_9a7ca8ad1c7d.zip) from here. Copy it to the device NOT in a folder so it is in the root of the device. In TWRP choose install and install the ROM zip file - leave it alone and let it do its thing. Once installed reboot the phone and again leave it alone, let it do its thing. Run through Android set up and then enable developer options and USB debugging. Run your UT installer and follow the instructions.

That's good news! I was very happy with my OP5 until it broke (fell down inside the wall panel of a train and the screen melted against a heater. Oops.) Glad to hear the OP5T works just as well. They're hard to come by where I live, and there's a 5T available much closer than any OP5. Looks like parts should be largely interchangeable too, screen and case aside. Always good to have spare parts. Nice to hear about 20.04, too. As a not-technically advanced user, running ubports on my only phone, I've been hesitant to switch. I'll try it out when I get the new phone. Thanks a lot for the input, all!

Hello, I'm also using a OP5 since a few months and I also have MMS issues. In my case, MMS have an unknown status, and aren't sent. The worst is that it comes and goes and you never know if the device will receive MMS or not. My trick to fix it is to switch mobile data off, then go in the AP configuration and reset them. The mobile is then tuning them automatically. After that, I switch the mobile data back to on state and the trick is done.... at least for a time. Hope this could help...
