How does GPS works on Pixel 3XL ?

I'm wondering if first fix takes long time an with Nexus 5 ?

I don't think device is much in count about first GPS fix. And it can take up to 30 mn depending on in sigh satellites number, UT does not use A-GPS for now.

The more you do it in open wild ground with all sky in sigh, or on roof of highest building, the more it will be short time.

Yes it can take up to half an hour, and that applies to all UT phones. The phone must be outside with a clear view of the sky. You also need to inhibit suspension of either the lock screen by means of Settings, or the application by means of UT Tweak Tool.

@saveurlinux i have a pixel 3 a and usually the first fix after reboot (or more commonly a restart of unity, because of plane mode locking cell data) is pretty fast. Sometimes, though it takes ages. An actual reboot fixes that. And by actual I mean sometimes it just restarts unity instead of rebooting. Then reboot for real.

@keneda I own a Mi A2 and a Pixel 3A (and also an Aquaris E4.5) running UBports and I can tell you the Pixel 3A is way more faster than the Mi A2 in every case. So I guess the device make a difference. I did a lot of comparison between both because I need to choose the one to keep as my main phone

@nodorf I bought a Pixel 3Xl and installed Ubport on it. It does work perfectly. GPS fix is fast < 1mn after boot.

@saveurlinux I had a 2min fix indoor (close to a window) with the Pixel 3a ! This took hours with the Mi A2 !
