@jojumaxx Too bad they didn't show the About Device info. But it does seem like it is a (fresh) install of UT on that device, whichever it actually is.

@arubislander To be fair, mistakes or wrong things are common in mockups even in legit devices, even Canonical is guilty of showing things that isn't correct or hasn't been implemented yet πŸ˜„
Also ROM is pretty common for referring to storage especially with Android devices.

I wonder if the foundation is aware of this device. I'd say this has a higher chance of being legit than the UbuTab with 1TB of HDD πŸ˜†

@kugiigi But ROM means the actual opposite of storage... Read Only Memory. If you could not write to it, it would not be much of storage.

I get the meaning (kind of) when referring to different Android "distro's" but for on device storage?

(Although ROM vs RAM is also a misnomer as Read Only Memory is also Randomly Accessible)

@arubislander That is true but for some reason many really used that term to refer to storage πŸ˜… This is very common at least years ago, I think they now use "storage" most of the time though.

Just for interest, I've asked them a few questions. They said they'd get back to me tomorrow.
I asked if the device already existed as a prototype, if they were doing the work that a porter does and taking care of it being fully functional, and if it was based on Halium.
I guess I could also ask specifically about VoLTE and how long they'd act as maintainer of the device.
                    Any other questions?

I suspect it's just one of a million prototypey things that could be made by such companies if a minimum order quantity were reached. But if they have an operational device, that's kinda interesting. No harm in asking.

Being the front camera and flash in the right upper corner, does not allow to see the clock.
