@thelinuxEXP On the note of 2FA, I switched to the Light Phone II about three years ago, which doesn’t have app-based 2FA capabilities, so to replace that I got a Yubikey (https://www.yubico.com/), and have been a big fan. Not only does it support one-touch passwordless login with WebAuthn/FIDO2/U2F/Passkeys/whatever they call it, but you can also store normal TOTP codes on them using the Yubico Authenticator app (https://www.yubico.com/products/yubico-authenticator/), which not only runs on iOS and Android but also desktop (which includes Linux). Has all the benefits of using Proton Pass or Authy since it works across multiple devices but doesn’t rely on a cloud service at all to work, which I like (even though I’m also a Proton Mail user and generally like them).Good luck with this experiment! I’ve been on this journey too, can definitely be an uphill battle.

@theking @justsoup Interesting Could you clarify what you were trying to do exactly? Happy to hear feedback on how pmbootstrap could be improved UX-wise, I know it has a long way to go

@gnome @phosh It really gets closer and closer to be a viable alternative to the duopoly of closed mobile OSes/ecosystem (Jolla is great too BTW). Congrats! It raises a question, tho: what is the relationship/collaboration between Phosh and the mobile gnome-shell initiative? Are you guys/gals converging towards a shared future? TBF, as an outsider/non-contributor, I'd love to see the sadly too thin workforce avoid segmentation. Of course, each of the contributors do whatever they want

Better late than never: PureOS 11 (crimson) is finally out, catching up with Debian 12 (bookworm) just in time for when bullseye/byzantium lose their extended security support next month.

@MrT10001 yes, but trust me qemu static emulation or box64 can go a long way, not to mention you can just compile it on aarch64. if you use NixManager you can probably get all the compilation dependencies and compile natively on device.

@PiotrBujakowski Because there is no Ubuntu Touch port for your device. https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/ And Ubuntu Touch is not the same as "Linux Ubuntu" for desktop, you can't install it the same way, like I said, it need to be ported by someone, maybe you if you have skill for, but it's a long and hard job to be done. https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2068/halium-first-steps

@rvan Now I understand. The "warning" is only alerting or reminding you that it needs your permission to access parts of your phone in order to do its job. It is nothing to be concerned about, so go ahead and install it.
