      Hi,
      I have a BQ E5 Ubuntu Edition (not a M10) and I don't know if this can help but I try :
Every time I turn my E5 into Access Point, the next Sleep Mode seems to brick the phone.
The first time, it was tragic as I was in the hospital and it was my only link with my family and more.
I tried many action randomly and finally I found that solution :
Push Power AND Vol+ AND Vol- as long as needed to have a restart
I say as long as needed because it seems very long to me (I've done this several times but never count the time, sorry). Try more than a minute but release the buttons if you see something appearing on the screen.
The workaround to avoid this freezing is to manually restart the phone after turning off the Access Point before the phone go to sleep.
      Regards

Aquaris BQ E5 HD Ubuntu Edition Canonical OTA-15 (last Canonical version, daily use)

I have had this happen to me twice (from memory), back in the early days when powering down. The first time I pressed the power button for what seemed like 5 minutes and then it came back up. When I removed my finger, I had the power button imprint there for a short time after. The second time I too left it for a few days and then it came back up all OK. So now I do not power the tablet down at all, I just turn the flight mode on (to save battery) and leave it to go into sleep mode.

@marathon2422 said in BQ Aquaris M10 HD won't turn on:

(...) ,make sure it goes off (...) it needs to go completely off (...)

but how can i force a complete shutdown? The screen is totally black, but the cpu is a little bit warm, even 2-3 h past turn off.

@bruno : sorry but I can figure out that it is so long as 5 minutes. From memory, between 1 and 2 minutes, at most 3. It is likely that it won't succeed.
                  Good luck

You could try reflashing with BQ tool ,do everything, press download etc, then connect your device, with your PC sound turned up ,if no result ,try any button option while connected, to ,including unplugging and plugging it back in, because the flash tool is expecting a turned off device -- OR go with draining the battery down ,then recharging it FULLY ,before you try anything.

@bruno can you read Spanish? In the BQ forum some people had a similar problem like yours http://www.mibqyyo.com/comunidad/categories/gama-m-tablets

It seems the first thing to do is to try a soft reset and if that doesn't work, a hard reset.

I don't know where you are but maybe you could also try to contact BQ customer service.

                      Good luck!

@marathon2422 That's it! By using the BQ flash tool i could reawake my device.

Unfortunaltly i had to flash my device with am android package cause BQ don't provide an ubuntu package for the HD edition anymore. Afterwards i could reflash the device back to UT by using the UBPorts installer!
Now i'm glad to have a running device and i stricktly avoid to power it down...

Btw: after reflashing to android the battery power was only 1%. This after shutdown only 48h before. So the shutdown was defintly incomplete and the device drained the battery strongly.
My question now: is this a BQ problem? Or is it a UT bug?

Thanks to all for giving me tips and advices! Now i can restart with UT 🙂

                            @bruno I'm glad you're back on board.

Just in case someone comes here with a similar problem, looking for a solution: Contact BQ support, they'll ask you for the serial number of the Ubuntu tablet, and then they'll give you the link for the tools and image.

EDIT: This is the link for downloads: http://www.mibqyyo.com/descargas/

I think your battery was drained just in time when you plugged it in. When that happened to me i could not connect it to my computer. Your reflash was most likely not necessary.

Bug is with UT. Never happened to me when i used Android.
