... or does there need to be some power management tweaks?

The battery indicter ticks down visibly when using UT now - even when the phone's plugged in... Making it somewhat unusable as mobile device.

      N5 Dev channel.

And if it's a new battery that I need, I remember someone saying that there's more than one option - so which is the best one to get? TIA.

Hi, you probably need a new battery.

But in order to be sure, you can switch to RC or Stable.
With my N5 I go from 100% to 20% in about 23hours with wifi on and bad LTE coverage.

I'll try to find the thread about battery replacement for the N5 for you.

@Bramble Just wondered if switching channel to stable improved battery life for you? I'm on RC channel and under the impression that lately my Nexus 5 battery also drains faster than it used to. If the switch of channel solved the problem, then it's software related. If not, it's battery age.

@Bramble Second the Polar cell replacement, it worked well when I did it.

Thank you for the concern. Sadly, changing channels did not solve the issue: A new battery it's going to have to be.

@Bramble Thanks for your reply, good to know it isn't software related! Hope replacing battery will be easy and your Nexus 5 will be good as new!

@Bramble Be very careful when opening the back cover, the plastic tabs that holds the cover in place breaks very easy. It's not meant to be opened. If I where you I would buy a new when buying the battery. Just in case, they are not expensive.

You should add that back cover, if changed, must be chosen carefully, as genuine one holds some antenas and the NFC receptor.

Yes! I watched in some horror as a friend of mine took the back off his... I'm not at all keen to do that - I'll take it into one of those phone repair shop places. They can have that stress!
