This is what I was reacting to. OP was considering uploading a free, but limited version of the app to the Open Store. I probably used too many words to say: that would only be possible if it were fully confined. Otherwise if it had to use any special permissions or be unconfined, then it had to be open source.

@dln949 just switched to 20.04 stable channel from devel. Then succesfully created a Libertine container from the command line.

Maybe you could try the following:
Go to Settings -> Updates, then clear all the updates by tapping the trash can icon the second one from the right in the upper right corner.
Then switch to the Release candidate channel by tapping on the cogwheel in the upper rightmost corner. Go back two screens and wait for the update to download. Install that and try creating a container. If it works switch back to stable and try again.

@emphrath It has been this way for me all along. I think it is the luck of the draw on rebooting.

@kugiigi the usability issues with Firefox currently don't really have anything to do with it running under XWayland/XMir (except the hardware acceleration).
