@joe im only familiar with US models, which you would want the G020G; sellers advertise that their device is G020G but then they send out whatever. For the US the one you want to avoid is the verizon version G020E which is not unlockable. I had better luck on swappa than ebay

Go to swappa, i bought mine there and had no issues at all.

I fixed my issue by reinstalling Ubuntu Touch and reinstalling waydroid with the following only:

sudo -s
sudo mount -o remount,rw /
apt update
apt install waydroid
waydroid init

Reboot phone

I have a pair of rowkins wireless 5.0 earbuds that connect but get no audio, im curious of what others have had success using as I would like to purchase a set that works.

I read on reddit or xda that the problem could be with which android 9 ROM you used. Apparently, somewhere closer to android 10, a couple of the builds broke sms/mms on android for the 3A, which would break it here.

So, maybe try flashing an earlier or later version of the android 9 factory build. Could explain why some have working sms and some do not.

This is what I thought as well, On my 1st phone, I got sms working flawless by installing android 9.0 (PD2A.190115.029); I tried it on my 2nd phone and it didnt work.

My first pixel 3a xl had the same issue of no sms in. I was able to get it working reliably with alfreds help, though im not quite sure what fixed it really, you can look at the orginal pixel 3a thread to see what was all done. I have a 2nd xl and have not been able to get sms in working. Can only get it if i toggle airplane mode. I use red pocket mobile.

@pengaro I use the 3a xl and scaling is perfect without needing to do anything

@trwidick It didnt work, but Im actually having issues with getting sms working on this pixel; my other pixel sms worked after alot of messing around but I dont know what I actually did to get it working, so ill have to try and get sms going first and will try again

Rep stated that all pixel 3a work on their network... I guess they never have tried Ubuntu Touch. HAHA They didn't care that it had ubuntu on it, witch was nice, but again no luck.

I went and Purchased A MintMobile SIM. Works flawlessly after a horrible set up process using another android phone and their app.

Thinking of trying other carriers.

I use AT&T and wasn't able to get mms to work, what apn settings did you use?

My experience was basically the same, although GPS worked good, Puremaps for me shows no search results, so i wasn't able to actually navigate with it. I logged an issue with puremaps but was told its on ubports side

I went back to android for now, the only deal breaker issue for me was no MMS, the rest I could live with.
