Update: I set-up a postal forwarding service so I have an address in the EU. Responded to the email that was sent out after my chat where I was informed that it would not be possible to assist me in any capacity without an address in the EU. Mind you I am paying for this and not trying to scam a warranty policy. The do not respond, I wait a few days and send a follow up email in the same email thread, no response again, I follow up again in a few more days.... Today I receive a response, do you think they opened a repair ticket or did anything at all to assist with facilitating this process? Nope, they responded with the following. "We apologize for our delay in responding to your message. With this message we want to assure you that your request has been received, and we are doing our best to get back to you as soon as possible. To prevent further delay, we would like to ask you to not create multiple requests. If your request is urgent, then please reach out to our support team via Live Chat. We also have an Online troubleshooting tool and useful Support articles to help guide you at home. We appreciate your patience and value your continued support. Your Fairphone Support Team"

@Moem The banks in the UK are really pushing you to use their app. For example if you log in on a browser, it will push you to authenticate with your app on your phone or tablet. The banks have close the vast majority of counters and now run a service (no cash withdrawals) where a van goes from community to community on set days for all banks to cater for those who don't online bank. Likewise if you do need a big cash withdrawal (i.e over 1000 euros) then they question you like you are a naughty child. (Think of Greta Thunberg saying "how dare you withdraw your own money, how dare you!). Then to work you now have to have an authenticator app and I have to have the M$ authenticator, no choice. If I don't have it I cannot get into works systems! The UK is really going to rack and ruin......

@Futura Just want to confirm this same thing happened to me. I had been daily driving calyxos, but wanted to give the new 24.04 a try. Initial progression went like this: calyxos > fairphone 15 > ubuntu 24.04 - neither wifi nor T-Mobile data worked I messed around with a couple other things including postmarket, no avail. Tried your trick: postmarket > fairphone 13 > changed setting above > ubuntu 24.04 - wifi and LTE both work Strange, and I'm not sure I follow why that works, but can confirm it does. Thanks!

@wally The lack of MMS was a big sticking point for me, good to know it might just take some messing around to get it working. Hopefully the new APN settings will resolve my sms/mms issues. @arubislander Good to know! Once I get the SMS/MMS issues ironed out I will do some playing around and see what I can come up with. If I could somehow get bitwarden and firefox I would be set. The default browser is pretty rough with the scaling bug on the FP5.

@Futura A lot of us use Cinny, a matrix client. And then matrix bridges to signal and some other services. We also heavily rely on Telegram through the app Teleports for all of the UT groups.
