I have tried a few different backup solutions i found on the forums here that do not work. I am in a good position to test this as i have two pixel 3a's one for testing (cracked screen) and one for my daily driver. The few scripts I found to work are just home folder copiers which is not really a backup solution. The adb pull /data/system-data /data/system-userdata does not work from recovery. I also tried TWRP which takes the backup but wont restore on the other device.

Anyone have a working solution or something I can test since i have two phones.

Finally went all in and daily driving my 3a on ubports.

Is anyone having random boot loop issues. When I reboot because the phone is acting strange usually its no issue but every few days it seems the reboot gets me to the google splash screen and hangs there nothing can get it to boot except a re flash with checking the user data wipe box a dirty re flash wont fix the issue.

Any ideas?

My apparmor.json file needed "webview" listed under the policy_groups which according to the documentation and this solved my issue.

@applee I did use clickable and i like how easy it is to make and html app. However standard <a href=url a> code makes a link but nothing happens when u click it wether in the desktop emulation clickable or if you deploy the app on the phone. There must be a setting I am missing that allows morph to use links to other pages?

I did find that and it works well however I am trying to learn to code my own app and for example I want a main page with two different web links attached to buttons one for my home camera interface and one for my shop camera rather then two apps i think it would be useful to build one app that has the two options in it unless webapps can not go to another site from inside the web app?

I am having an issue building a webapp. HTML links dont seem to work, when I run clickable desktop and click a standard href link i get this;

The other issue is instead of using a webapp i tried to just build a basic shell script which works once in the terminal but if i make a .desktop file to launch from the app drawer it does nothing?

Honestly I would be OK with just getting syncevolution to export to vcard once a week and upload that to my nextcloud anyone know how to make that happen on the command line?

@davedanger Whats interesting is when someone sends me an MMS it tells me error check APN so it knows MMS is coming in but can not make it show up.

Other than that I am daily driving this phone with good success I just ordered a new pixel 3a since the screen on mine is destroyed and used they are rather cheap, i think i am making the full time switch!

The off wifi did not seem to help with MMS. Maybe the APN settings need to be adjusted?

I assume its carrier based but anyone having any SMS/MMS issues with Tmobile. I have been checking back every couple months to see if it is fixed as I badly want to use my old pixel 3a to go completely google free.

Fresh install phone calls work in and out SMS works to send but I can not receive SMS or send or receive MMS.

No matter what APN settings I play with I cant seem to receive SMS.

Anyone else running TMobile on a pixel 3a?

I was having issues with that too playing with turning on mobil data and cellular connection then resetting helped but switching to the devel channel is what got everything working for me. This however had the phone lock up on me while rebooting and it could not be fixed without re flashing and wiping user data.

@dieharddan so i re flashed a couple times and got mobil data and cell service working correctly and the phone worked perfect for a day. By the end of the day i lost mobil data so i tried restarting which ended up stuck on the goolge splash screen and couldn't get it to boot without re flashing and wiping user data.

It was totally usable as a daily driver if all i needed to do was reboot it once in a while but not sure how to avoid the frozen google screen?

If I could get a day at a time I would just reboot every morning. Do you have mobile data and roaming on? Are you using T-Mobile or any special APN settings?

Is anyone having the same issue, it seems one or the other works (phone calls or SMS) but not both depending on if cellular data and roaming are checked on or not. I am using T-Mobile is this the norm or have I missed something in an earlier thread that fixes this issue, APN settings maybe?

PS the interface is stupendous and has come a really long way since i last looked at it a year or two ago.

Hey so I just used ubports to flash on my pixel 3a and I was stuck at the same spot scratching my head for a bit. Once you get to waiting for device ADB is scanning and you have booted into the ubuntu recovery unplug your phone from the USB cable then plug it back in. That got it working and everything went well after that. I loved the OS but had to revert back to android I cant reliable get phone calls or SMS.
