@Nathan123 Technically you can, but if you do so, you'll have to do it again after the next OTA. But there are "drivers" that can be seen as blobs ; those are provided by the manufacturer and cannot be changed because are tied with the hardware. Note: If you're thinking about fixing your wifi problem like this, I think it won't work. You problem is probably hardware related given that other OPO users don't have the same behavior. Maybe it is a bad memory sector and flashing UT again can fix it, but I think you already tried that and it didn't help.

@Nathan123 Download from OpenStore the wifiscanner app and have a look at the signals strenght. You could run in terminal the ifconfig command, especially when is buggy and see what have changed in the wlan0 status.

@Keneda It is my understanding that the OPO is more unpredictable than most other phones. Many people complain about problems and it always seem to be really random and unidentified. While with other devices it's more frequently a step missed or hardware issue. OPO is well supported but I sense that installation will always be a pain with this device.

For cartography, you there are several providers for: maps (vector data representing features: roads, buildings, etc.) tiles (the visual components of maps). geocodes (names for features like addresses or road names which allows to search something in a map) The first one is served by OSM, the second one is usually a third party service provider and the last one can be nominatim which is a services provided by OSM but can also be part of the third party provider. Navigation is another service that third party can offer and is able to resolve how to join two different locations. Was Android > 5.1 installed before? You might need to go back to stock Android from an older verison to get the cache partition right.

On Ubuntu it is smooth.

I don't think my trust issues are as deep as yours but here is what i use; purism librem mail for general purposes, protonmail for my academic mail traffics, and finally tutanota for my social mails and contacts(i dig its calender).

The only device I used and I still use it heavily as a daily driver is the Pro 5 and I recommend it with all my heart!
