@rocket2nfinity Ok. That is good. If the VoLTE issue is resolved in a matter of months, I can wait. I am exploring using a dumb phone right now anyways.

RE: Best Carrier/Network for American/Canadian Users - MMS/SMS Issues
What I gather from this is that I probably should move back over to android until something changes.

@keneda Dang. That isn't good either.

@messayisto oof. that doesn't inspire much confidence. I guess I just have to look at getting a pinephone pro if I want a usable non-android linux phone.

RE: Best Carrier/Network for American/Canadian Users - MMS/SMS Issues
@applee lol. I understand. I'm a little slow when it comes to tech stuff. Honestly got into tech in the past couple years and I'm trying to do as much open source as I can now.
Data working over 4g is good. I actually wanted to start using multiple phone VoIP phone numbers anyways for privacy & security reasons (just want to see if I can do it). This gives me a reason to explore doing this.
Is there any way I can help assist with expanding the VoLTE feature too?

RE: Best Carrier/Network for American/Canadian Users - MMS/SMS Issues
@applee ok. So there is zero 4g support - at least in America - in Ubuntu Touch at this time. Ok, this clarifies things.
I also don't see any information so far on working to get support for that either.

RE: Best Carrier/Network for American/Canadian Users - MMS/SMS Issues
@ian I saw that comment, but it seemed like some people were having success with different carriers.
I'm not sure what he knows about the bug or if this is a bug that can be resolved. Im not sure what it means that "all IMS stuff has been shut off" either.

Best Carrier/Network for American/Canadian Users - MMS/SMS Issues
Just from looking around through the posts for the Pixel 3a Device, there seems to be issues with sending/receiving SMS/MMS on American/Canadian carriers.
Has anyone in these areas had success with getting the phone to function normally in these areas? If so, what carrier/network and what apn settings were used?

RE: Verizon calling & SMS working?
@rocket2nfinity Ok. Do you know anything about the bug on the pixel 3a? Does this mean I also can't use a service that uses the Verizon network too (like Ting)?

RE: Verizon calling & SMS working?
Are there any updates for this issue? If I switch to a carrier that uses Verizon's network will it be an issue too?
-
RE: KDE Connect
Has there been any update on this? I do not see the KDE connect software in the OpenStore

RE: Questions before I Install
@arubislander Ok. I'll keep an eye on that. It's not a feature I need right at the moment, but it's there when I need it in the future. Thank you for your help!

RE: Questions before I Install
@lakotaubp Yes, this is what I'm looking for. It serves as what should be a fairly standard parental control feature and it is good for others who want to avoid certain temptations. I have already opened up an issue on the OpenStore gitlab page and I will see if they will add that feature.

RE: Questions before I Install
@arubislander Can I install apps that you can find in the OpenStore through the command line instead? If so, will they update?
-
RE: Questions before I Install
@domubpkm That is true. it is still possible to download something from the browser and install it. Granted, I could just remove the web browser software or find some other way to restrict the use of the browser.
I just want these options because they help me regulate my digital self control.

RE: Questions before I Install
@arubislander Thank you. Is there any way to restrict app installation with a password on OpenStore?
-
Questions before I Install
I have a Google Pixel 3a and I am considering installing ubports on it, but before I do I have a series of questions.
-
Is it possible to set up a root password that is separate from the pass code for entry? I would like to have a different password be required to install apps than the general entry pass code. Also, would this secondary password also work to restrict app installations in a similar way if i use waydroid?
-
Is there a way to view what apps are available in the app store? I honestly do not need many apps, but I would like to see what is available before moving over.
