The foundation is wonderful news. If I remember correctly the foundation was not only to gain tax reduction for donations - a "Verein" would have been sufficient, but rather it was pursued to have a legal person/entity in order to enter legal contracts with partners.
So: Are there any specific plans to use the foundation to enter cooperations? (I think the topic arose around the discussion about bq devices.)
What will the cooperation change regarding the two employees of the project? Are the plans to employ more people for programming, coordinating etc. pp.?
The foundation was established in Germany - does this change anything about the structure of the project? What will be the role of the members of the board of the foundation in the project?
How will the setup of the foundation change the funding of the project?
I believe this is a huge step for ubports! Congrats to the project and a huge applause to the driving forces of this success in the community.
@errorcodevortex I kind of miss the gratefulness in your remarks towards those who make it possible to have phones without android / macos/ windows - for free! And I miss the understanding for the fact that a project which is run on voluntary basis can't produce the same results as big companies can. Joining in on the ride includes the acceptance that not everything works here and now as it works on the other side.
And just as a reminder. Most of the people involved are voluntarily doing so. I can't see any reason what so ever to do or write anything to - excuse my language - piss any of those volunteers off.
@Josele13 i do like the principle of the design as @Aury88 proposed it with 3 persons, reaching the hands.
I personally have less a problem with the basic design than with the coloring and the additional ring that in combination immediately reminded me of runes. And living in a region where people tend do abuse runes for unfriendly political codes, I rather prefer not to have a badge which makes me look like one of them.
Therefore I would prefer a badge which looks first less like a rune and secondly underlines the connection to the original design of Ubuntu.
I tried despite missing mastery in GIMP to illustrate my point by coloring the sketch of @hummlbach changing it only in two regards: linking the heads with the body and adding a colored circle. By linking the heads with the body the proposed rigid structure of lines and circles is broken and by adding a colored circle which intersects with the heads in their center a quote of the logo of ubuntu is introduced...

@flohack Hi, i am using the phone now for one month as a daily driver and besides minor issues (update 80, necessity to reboot to recoqnize the sim-card) i am fully content with the device and therefore I just wanted to thank you for porting and maintaining it!
Hm. Calls work with me. Also Germany but carrier is Telefonica.
But the phone disconnects from mobile connections while morph browser is running. And the Wlan disconnets after I click on a link on any website and only loads after reconnecting... 
...but compared to 2015 everything is still amazing.
