Hm. Calls work with me. Also Germany but carrier is Telefonica.
But the phone disconnects from mobile connections while morph browser is running. And the Wlan disconnets after I click on a link on any website and only loads after reconnecting...
...but compared to 2015 everything is still amazing.

RE: Pinephone (braveheart)
Hm. I couldn't find any better thread...
I received my Pinephone from China today (Yeah! - and that me being in Germany). As I understood, it was recommended to update the phone upon arrival, as the factory image (May 5th) is not the newest built. But neither on stable nor on rc the new pinephone could find any update available.
What is to be done? Thx.
RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 74 This Saturday at 19:00 UTC
There is a lot of talk about different concepts for a Corona-App in Europe, which seem to be targeting primarily Android and iOS devices. Is there a plan to approach the relevant institutions on national and international level in order to have at least in Europe the final concept also programmed for UT devices? Beyond the question of social responsibility it might also be a mean to spread the information about the existence of UT beyond the normal user group.
RE: I trust this Covid19 tracking software...
I guess that the above mentioned app concerns only the Americas. In Europe there is a separate approach under way to program an contact tracing app: https://www.pepp-pt.org/ (=Pan-European Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing (PEPP-PT))
Maybe it made sense if somebody contacts them about implementing this on ubuntu touch. (The contacts are on the site).
RE: Ubports TWRP Recovery Flashable zips out there/possible?
@errorcodevortex I kind of miss the gratefulness in your remarks towards those who make it possible to have phones without android / macos/ windows - for free! And I miss the understanding for the fact that a project which is run on voluntary basis can't produce the same results as big companies can. Joining in on the ride includes the acceptance that not everything works here and now as it works on the other side.
And just as a reminder. Most of the people involved are voluntarily doing so. I can't see any reason what so ever to do or write anything to - excuse my language - piss any of those volunteers off.
RE: New badge for Yumi?
@Josele13 i do like the principle of the design as @Aury88 proposed it with 3 persons, reaching the hands.
I personally have less a problem with the basic design than with the coloring and the additional ring that in combination immediately reminded me of runes. And living in a region where people tend do abuse runes for unfriendly political codes, I rather prefer not to have a badge which makes me look like one of them.
Therefore I would prefer a badge which looks first less like a rune and secondly underlines the connection to the original design of Ubuntu.
I tried despite missing mastery in GIMP to illustrate my point by coloring the sketch of @hummlbach changing it only in two regards: linking the heads with the body and adding a colored circle. By linking the heads with the body the proposed rigid structure of lines and circles is broken and by adding a colored circle which intersects with the heads in their center a quote of the logo of ubuntu is introduced...
RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 47 Saturday 6th of April at 19:00 UTC
The foundation is wonderful news. If I remember correctly the foundation was not only to gain tax reduction for donations - a "Verein" would have been sufficient, but rather it was pursued to have a legal person/entity in order to enter legal contracts with partners.
So: Are there any specific plans to use the foundation to enter cooperations? (I think the topic arose around the discussion about bq devices.)
What will the cooperation change regarding the two employees of the project? Are the plans to employ more people for programming, coordinating etc. pp.?
The foundation was established in Germany - does this change anything about the structure of the project? What will be the role of the members of the board of the foundation in the project?
How will the setup of the foundation change the funding of the project?
I believe this is a huge step for ubports! Congrats to the project and a huge applause to the driving forces of this success in the community.
RE: "5 minute" tasks
go to the page of ubports on distrowatch.com and help ubports to rise among the top 100 (6 month-list visitor ranking) to be permanently present on the front page. As it is one of the most frequented sites for linux distros, permanent presence on the front page will help spread the word.
Write a review on https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubports
Look for blog posts / articles on ubports and add a comment.
RE: OTA2 'killed' my phone: bq E4.5 - no wifi & no mobile
I have a similar issue for Nexus5.
Wifi works, but mobile data does not appear in the top, even tough if I pull down the top bar, I can tell that a connection has been detected.
I can't change anymore the settings for mobile internet from 2g/3g to another option. I only shows that it is working without ever finishing.
I guess it is a Christmas bug - to spend more time with the family and less with the phone.
And I realize that my technical english is limited:
RE: Branding UBports: OS name / Project Logo / Project Name
Just to add another proposal:
"Community Based Operating System for Mobile Devices" or short: CoBOSMoD
And the logo should necessarily include an 'O'
RE: Welcome to the UBports community! Introduce yourself here!
Hi, I am Nico from Germany. Ubuntu Touch was my first Smartphone OS and despite its restrictions I have no intentions of moving to Android, Windows or iOS. Therefore I was happy to see that the OS was to be continued by ubports.
I am solely a user with hardly any knowledge of programming. Therefore my support will be mostly monetary, but my thanks to those who create this is enormous.
And continuing in German as it is only directed towards other Landsleute:
keep up the good work
