@zig Either tap on the green button that says "Get started", or tap on the + icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to keep the screen on and not to navigate away from the settings while the container is being created. Might I ask why you want to install the lubuntu-software-center? As it is not touch enabled, it will probably not be a very pleasant experience to use on a phone. The Libertine manager under System Settings is not the most user friendly either, but it does allow you to search for packages and install the ones you want from a touch enabled UI at least. It is not great for discovery, I will admit, but if you know what you are looking for, it is fairly easy to find and install. You can also add PPA's via the user interface it provides.

@deepanshu1409 On 16.04 it was possible to use apt in a libertine container. That seems no longer to be easily possible on 20.04. But is it not more important that you can achieve your objective of installing a package, rather than using apt specifically for doing so? You can install debs with libertine-container-manager install-package, at least according to the --help. I have not tried yet myself.

@kugiigi Ok, so I'll wait and see how these Apps will behave on Focal, as soon as it gets mature some more. Thanks for your advice

@arubislander said in Libertine tweak tool, how to install on Focal?: @doniks The main issue with Libertine has always been how well the apps behave running under XMir (xenial) or XWayland (focal). No more work is being done on XMir, bit XWayland is under active development, and we should see things improving on that front. Ah. Awesome. Happy to hear that! :party_popper:

@keneda the nymea app in the Open Store still requires that a nymea server be installed on another (always on) computer ik the network.

@mark-muth said in libertine complains about LD_PRELOAD libtls-padding.so: @arubislander Yes I tried installing it through the libertine settings app and through apt on the command line. It just cannot be found. Turns out there is no package one needs to install to get rid of the error. Just unsetting LD_PRELOAD is enough: unset LD_PRELOAD

@danayaal said in Unable to run wireshark as root on libertine: I so confused about how to run wireshark with root on libertine. You cannot run anything as root in libertine, as it is an unprivileged container.

@3x5 Just to clarify: UBports is the name of the community. The OS is called Ubuntu Touch because it is based on Ubuntu, well, actually in many ways, it is Ubuntu, but then slimmed down to run on a mobile device. One thing that is front and center though, is, as you've experienced, making the phone experience the best it can be on a phone, and the tablet experience the best it can be on a tablet. Desktop applications (I prefer to use that term, rather than 'legacy') were only ever meant to shine being used as they were originally intended. Slap on a keyboard, mouse and external monitor and your gmusicbrowser would be much more pleasant to work with. Only thing is, it would not be very 'mobile'. Maybe encourage the developers of gmusicbrowser to make their application adaptive to smaller screens. Does it already do so? Why Morph is labeled as a legacy app in the logs is a mystery to me, as it is one of the applications that most showcases the intent of the OS, to provide one platform for different form factors, with applications that are 'convergent', i.e. look like they belong across different screen sizes and device configurations.

@3x5 IMHO, after you have destroyed your container with the Preferences/Libertine GUI, it is possible that some irrelevant data persist in the following folders : /home/phablet/.cache/libertine-container/xenial /home/phablet/.local/share/libertine-container/user-data/xenial /userdata/user-data/phablet/.cache/libertine-container/xenial Have a look to them before creating the new container Hope this help Pulsar33
