@bunchy7s Note that the Oneplus 3 port isn't even listed on the main devices page. The page @moem dug up says that the last work on it was in 2021 and is for UT 16.04, which is quite out of date. And the video you followed is four years old. I can't say that your issues are definitely caused by how out of date it is, but I can say that you're unlikely to have a good experience of Ubuntu Touch on that device. Unless you want to take up the reins and bring the Oneplus 3 port up to date, I'd say your best bet to try UT is to read around on the forum and device pages and try to find a supported device that suits your needs and is affordable and available in your area. Also of note: some people have difficulty with putting a phone back to android, so do your homework on that before attempting.. people have bricked their devices.

@PringleMingle If you loved your Op3, try finding a used Op5 or 5t! Very good device, and very close to what you are used to... except this one runs the latest version of Ubuntu Touch. And nowadays they can be had for a song.

@jro said in Status of 20.04 for OP3: As Ubuntu 20.04 has been out for a while now, I wonder when it will come to the OnePlus3. Unfortunately, on the device page, I cannot find any related information, and when I click on "report issue", I am redirected to a Github repository for Halium for the OnePlus3 with no obvious connection to Ubuntu Touch. Is this device abandoned? Then I have to test that directly

@xet7 it should do. EXT4 is a common feature of TWRP. OnePlus devices usually have the data partition on EXT4 anyway.

@ishvalanX Is the the OP3 or the OP3T? The OP3 has hardware issues on other Android based operating systems as well as UT. The OP3T not so much.

@poVoq I had been looking forward to flashing UT on my OP3, but when I did it, I found the experience to be quite wonky and then I only then I found out that this device is essentially unmaintained, so that bug linger on unfixed and new bugs accumulate with nobody to take care of them. I have now flashed /e/ on this phone, which gives me a far superior experience.

I have right now installed OTA 25 on a OnePlus 3 (not 3T), and I'm sorry to say that rotation does not work.

@ut Reading again the OnePlus 3 forum posts, this looks like a problem of the 3T(?). My OP3T is A3003. Just installed e.foundation and no incoming call volume sound problems. In the past had Lineageos on this device and also no problems.

@pranishres Great video. Successful install on OP3T A3003 (Europe model) with ubports-installer 0.9.7-beta. Had to switch Cellular Connectiontype to 2G/3G to receive calls. On T-Mobile in The Netherlands.

I have the "echo on the caller's end" problem also... I find using earbuds seems to solve the problem... ymmv.

Unfortunately the inclusion of the word "Ubuntu" in the name Ubuntu Touch misleads people into thinking it is a computer operating sytem like all the other Linux distributions. In reality it is not. UT is a telephone operating system that requires its own specific applications.

@mrt10001 Yep seems a pain so I'm not going there. Might try a OP6 at some point but Iseem to stick to odd numbers as far as OP go 1,3,and 5. Also a little rant is not too bad every now and then, better than the infamous wall/floor bounce.

There are settings in UT Tweak Tool for edge sensitivity. Have you tried them?

@6mv said in Mozzilla firefox browser && Signal IMA: That axolotl is it as safe as Signal? Does it feed anything to anyone? Signal keeps the encrypted data on your device and doesn't share anything, yet... These are good questions! I don't know the answers, but you can ask the developers directly at this Telegram group: https://t.me/axolotl_dev It's an open source program, made by devs from the community. @6mv In my experience the video recording function does not work on Op3/3T, it crashes the camera app.

@luksus Quick check on calrndar, 28/10 Thurs. That would mean RC updated on 27/10 runs 7 days then updates on 3/11 catching last dev update on 28th. No dev updates no RC updates, meaning nothing on 10/11. That is if I have my dates right
