Getting back to this because of problems I am experiencing with UT. I appreciate your response and the tip on MidroG. I was able to successfully install TWRP - someone at the XDA forum was kind enough to post a step by step procedure and it went without a hitch. https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/switching-custom-roms-twrp-t3962899#post81056949 Since I will be wiping the device for any other ROMs I will try re-installing UT and wipe the user data this time.

@3arn0wl In the link given by @libremax, there is a chapter about the new video player. It's stated there that live streaming won't have been possible without a new video player. Hence I understand that live streaming won't be possible until the new video player is widely spread and probably even later. And I agree this would be nice to have live news from UBPorts using a free alternative to youtube [Edit] AAfter posting I realize answer from @libremax has been made  :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I just discovered the UBports app on the phone. I'm not sure why I never thought to run it first. Too eager to find things I want in the OpenStore to notice what is preinstalled that I want.

@B2288 said in How to flash Nexus 5: @trainailleur Thanks for clarifying that. I guess I should do more research before spreading FUD. No worries. I'm not a particular advocate of them, and it's true they have been sloppy with attribution in their sources, but it's an interesting project that seems to have some momentum and perhaps a chance to make alternative Android distros a little more mainstream. Anyone can set up Nextcloud/Owncloud etc. and do the same, but it's a lot of work, and a lot of the populace would never get around to it, so I find the project goals kind of interesting.

No, it currently will not, it would need to be ported. Info on how to do this is at http://docs.halium.org/en/latest/porting/first-steps.html and http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/introduction.html Best regards, Steve Berson

@xinorixic no, you can find the current supported devices list at https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/ You can try to port UT yourself if that model has the minimum requirements (http://docs.halium.org/en/latest/porting/first-steps.html).
