@armen We do not support dualboot. It maybe possible on some devices by various methods but it is not officially supported.

Today, there is an update. When you reboot to install, reboots to recovery. Reboot again it boots back into UT with no install.

Solved : It was indeed the network parameter of my mobile operator! I tried with another operator and it worked! Mobile data, MMS and mobile access point. Screenshots of the changes made to put back the correct settings. I also inserted Waydroid to find the applications I use: It also works. @ahmed_samy I recently also switched a phone with similar specs (32GB+3GB RAM, Nokia 6.1 in this case) from the official OS it came with when I bought it to LineageOS. The final update they gave the phone was based on Android 10, the last security update was in early 2021. With the latest available Lineage OS it is now based on Android 11 and there are weekly updates to install. It feels like it runs more smooth and is very well usable again. If there was a UT port for this one, I would obviously advertise that one here , but LOS in this case is also a nice way to keep that "old" phone working well.

@josele13 On a booting phone with UT, with file manager, maybe after making system r/w temporarily. Or by command line. On a non-booting UT phone, i can't tell.

@otadr Thanks for reporting, in RC the tone of the calls is low, the bluetooth as always, you can only listen to music, it doesn't work in calls, I think everything else works fine When charging a led lights up on the bottom of the phone, before it didn't light up. Regards...

@danct12 Thanks a lot for your work on RN7 Lavender. As it's shown as "inactive" in the porting progress, several people are asking whenever it's possible to finish the port by adding the missing features? (Offline charging, video recording, Bluetooth calls in car, charging indicator and automatic brightness adjustment). In the mean time, I had to swap my device to an alternate ROM (/e/OS currently) as I professionally need to be reachable on my car journeys; but would love to flash back to UT as soon as it will work fine Many thanks.

It's a very good device under UT indeed. The 4 main missing ported features currently are: Bluetooth calls in car Offline charging + charging indicator Video capture Microphone in browser As the porting section mentions that Redmi Note 7 is now inactive, maybe we can make a new call for porter..? Except of this, I love Redmi Note 7 under Ubuntu Touch!

@swomp You have to be on the Xiaomi stock android. The Problem with some ROMs is that they resize partitions which causes issues with Ubuntu touch.

OK guys, thanks for your suggestions. Finally I got Ubuntu Touch installed! Unfortunately I'm not able to say what especially was the case. What I did: On my Linux Mint computer I removed everything regarding UBPorts installer. On the deice I've additionally removed developper option "check for apps installed via USB for harming behave". Then I installed UBPorts installer again (0.8.8) and started flashing again. After flashing I've had the same effect "Searching for device", but I saw for a short moment "Ubuntu" on the device screen.... So I unplugged the device abut it stuck on the screen "Redmi by Xiaomi unlocked" - so far the same as before. Now I've made a manual reboot on the Redmi, and surprise, after the screen above, "Ubuntu" appeared and started..... What's not nice: The device starts now with "Redmi by Xiaomi unlocked" (ca 5 sec.) before ubuntu system starts. Seems to me, that UBPorts installer just was not able to send reboot command to the device. After two days with Ubuntu Touch, I'm very satisfied. Got all what I've expected. UBUNTU TOUCH ROCKS!
