        Hello.
I took some photos with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro running UT 24.04-1.0 RC 1 during a few days of holiday.
The indoor photos are fine, but those taken outside are overexposed.
I restarted the phone, but that didn't change anything.

The image quality of the device largely depends on the hardware-specific code from device manufacturer; we don't have much control over it. As such, I would suggest you to ask your port's maintainers to take a closer look into this.

        First impressions:
        <...>
Telegram Notifications are nor overriden ( list is always growing)
        <...>

You're saying that anewer notification from the same contact should replace the old one, but doesn't? That's probably lomiri-push-service as we have a big refactor there to migrate to a different DBus library. If you can turn this into a GitLab issue I would appreciate it. Otherwise I can do it too.

@malditobastardo I used to have overexposed images on higher resolution - same device (not always, but usually shortly after I switched to the higher resolution). So when on UT I took photos in lower res and started relying on Waydroid and GCam even for photos 😞

Unfortunately there is likely no way to improve this on the UT level. I looked into that (granted, with my poor understanding of things) and it looks like all the camera issues (slowness, no support for HDR etc) are already coming from Halium and perhaps the camera being non standard as the Halium/Android layer is already limiting what it can do on UT.

I wonder if there is something the Halium project can do to improve things? Perhaps similarly to what GCam does enable some per-device configs to actually support more of the stuff devices can do.

@peat_psuwit What could a device porter/maintainer do in this instance to make it work better? Thank you 🙂

            Hello.
Is it still useful to report bugs found in 24.04-1.0 RC2?
When trying to associate a custom ringtone with a contact, I repeatedly encountered failures when copying the .mp3 file.
            This behaviour is intermittent.
            OK
Lionel has found the origine of the probem and there is no regression.

In fact, the file was alread present in /home/phablet/.local/share/sounds/ringtones/audio/
coming from my other phone on 20.04.
and the copy fails for this.
The message is not well suited or a better behaviour could be implemented in this case.

To give more info, https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/lomiri-addressbook-app/-/issues/233 , so not a regression.
This is on my TODO list...

Update 25 September 2025: we've had a report where some devices fail to boot after installing Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0 RC 2, which requires us to delay the release of Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0. We're looking into it and will provide update as soon as possible.

                  @peat_psuwit I am now on 24.04-1.0RC 2, device is oneplus nord 10.
What still does not work is the counter of messages of the different apps in the launcher. Dekko is counted endless unless you reboot
Teleports does notify and count, but sms app doesnt.
Another annoying but harmless issue is the time between a call an resurrection of mobile data, it takes ages compared to focal. Same after for example a tunnel, where mobile data was lost.
And a question: Will there be a note app again?
Thanks to all for your amazing work!

On my OP5T battery drain is quite bad with noble 24.04-1.x RC2. From some ps aux checks, looks like one process is running at over 100%, so consuming more than one core constantly:
                    /usr/libexec/mediascanner-2.0/mediascanner-extractor

This is almost 4 hours after the last reboot. I do have around 5100 photos, a bit over 330 videos and about 300 songs.

Update 30 September 2025: after debugging, we've decided that it's likely that the report where some devices fail to boot after installing Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0 RC 2 is likely a false positive. As such, it's been decided to go ahead with the release of 24.04-1.0.

Which means that Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.0 is now released.

This is the first stable release for 24.04, if I understand correctly ?

It's known that fingerprint sensor on Fairphone 5 does not always work.

Well, there even is a "sensorgate" as this capricious sensor can cause the device to brick after android 15 update if it dies !

Thanks to you and all the Devs involved in releasing this great OS to the people 😀

How long did you wait? First boot after upgrading can take considerable time.

@danfro After a long wait, the Ubuntu Touch boot screen appeared yesterday, followed by the unlock screen. However, the phone could not be unlocked. So, I restarted it by pressing the power button. Then the Android screen appeared, and I waited for about 8 hours.

When I press the power button again and restart the phone, it remains stuck on the Android screen without any changes.

@ma so if you saw the unlock screen, it kind did install. But obviously something went wrong. I haven't heard of such a case before.

I suggest using the installer and reinstall. Do NOT tick wipe, that will keep all your data.

@danfro I was finally able to install the update using the Ubports Installer. However, I also received a message here that an error occurred. I chose the "Ignore" option, and the update was installed—hopefully without errors.

                                            Thank you for your support!

@ma Glad it worked so far. But might be worth giving information about that behaviour and the error message to the porter(s) of your device. Sometjing may need fixing.
