I did attempt the first half:

sudo rm -rf ~/anbox-data 

without success. Right now I have it in a functional precarious state after various adb resets and anbox-tool installs. So I'll leave it for now. But if I try again, I'll take a look at the local folder there.

Is there a quick way to reset Anbox after messing with it?

I installed an unsuccessful google play services and app combo, and wanted to try again. I know how to uninstall a given package, but I couldn't isolate the the play services package/packages.

I attempted deleting the anbox-data directory so I could re-run "anbox-tooll install". I didn't have the appropriate permissions even with sudo. I started fishing around online for a quick method, seeing as how these are isolated in containers.

Looks like I should have been looking into Waydroid this whole time instead? as that's the more preferred app?

My g'ness... I just, barely remembered it... phew! So that's taken care of from a functional perspective.

Last time I used my device was about four months ago. I was required to add a passcode for some aspect of functionality I can't remember ("You must secure your device with a passcode in order to such 'n' such...). I didn't want to use a banking pin, so I created one on the spot. I have no idea what it was?!

My current goal is actually to revert to android so I can use it for travel digital painting (ubports options aren't the best at the moment). So if there's a solution that can involve reinstalling (which I have to look a tutorial up for), that works. But I'm worried that maybe that isn't even possible?

Thanks @joe ! @kugiigi , Initially I thought it was the elaborate windowed procedure, depicted in the instructions of this mouse, that was my barrier for pairing (and it's surprise, repeated referencing of Windows, many times over; The listing mentioned "android tablets"); But on inspection, what is happening should be feasible on UT. My current theory is that it is a wifi and bluetooth mouse, who's bluetooth has fizzled; It mentions a dongle without really referring to it (It refers to "pairing" as "using the dongle"), I don't think English was the first language of the packagers; and I think they may have been misled as to what they were repackaging. There was a mouse like this (wifi and bluetooth) on Walmart that has half positive, half horrendous, reviews.

I can't test it on windows, but it does not work on Android or Ubuntu desktop. I think I am the victim of an illusion by misfortune; But I couldn't find any forum posts anywhere clarifying my situation, so I think this thread is worthwhile for that rare use case.

You also need a monitor with HDMI input, or a very obscure--powered--slimport-to-vga box (it's clunky, and of a very specific design) if you must use vga. I tracked it down on German Amazon, not available for shipping in U.S.. The slimport to HDMI is the only real proven solution; There are countless forum posts around the web where people are trying to get slimport to vga and reaching dead ends. Buying a new monitor, if necessary, is the path of least resistance.

I'm just setting up convergence myself. I'm very impressed with my Motorola 89451N Bluetooth keyboard; got it cheap and refurbished on ebay, and it's super sturdy. If anyone knows of a slimport usb-hub solution, that would also be an ideal accessory. I'm going to attempt to daisy-chain an OTG hub with micro usb power through the micro usb power connection on the slimport adapter, when it arrives in the mail. I'm not holding my breath.

As mentioned above, don't be fooled by MHL hdmi usb-hub combos, Nexus 5 is strictly slimport.

I pulled a shot in the dark with my bluetooth mouse; it's a sturdy quality build, made in china, $10 on amazon, I didn't even notice that there is no brand name; But it simply doesn't show up on a bluetooth device scan; I've followed the discoverable mode procedure. I've seen other people struggle with bluetooth mice on linux in general, in other forum search results...

Which brand is being used in that fancy convergence youtube video (haha)? Does anybody know of a bluetooth mouse that plays well with Ubuntu Touch?

you can always Google man pages for specific things when on the go, even narrow it down by distro and its version when searching.

I had just spent about 45min searching for a ubuntu-app-launcher man page (saw and used the command in vid) before posting this; not convenient.

I just installed, Ubuntu Touch on a Nexus 5 (awesome! so stoked! so grateful!); I'm hungry to learn and don't want to hassle everybody for every little question... but 'man' isn't available in the terminal! really? Is there another doc viewing program? Manpages are so essential for self education, and the documentation isn't nearly as extensive as what manpages would provide. (I know it's in it's infancy).
