@Moem Do you know what Ubuntu Touch is and will always remain a test system with this attitude? It is also cheeky to forbid me to say what I have been trying to say here in a normal tone for so long. If you have this support only in English and no German support Telegram is a Frankenstein service!!!! Sorry then it is. And I know you don't want any cretics here. But it's cheeky if the system doesn't even have support for Xiaomi ports in general. I will express my factual opinion wherever I see fit and stand by it.Just like in the Telegram group you spread OT yourself and count me in. You better be happy that there are people like me. OK, maybe I can't do much programming because I'm not a developer. But the testing and what not for you wanted to have tested. You don't have to understand. The fact is a Waydroid is not a solution in the long run because it uses up battery power.

RE: WhatsApp on Ubuntu Touch?
I mean that the interface looks a bit like Apple. The settings gear, for example. Otherwise yes, Ubuntu Touch is understandable differently. WhatsApp understanding to some extent. You should really ask Meta or ask for it, it would also be in your interest that UT becomes better known. Waydroid is great that it works with it but the battery runs out quickly. OK, that's sorted.

RE: WhatsApp on Ubuntu Touch?
Are you finally bringing WhatsApp to Ubuntu Touch? I mean Ubuntu Touch is slightly based on IOS. In any case, it would be very nice if WhatsApp was finally available natively. Telegram and other platforms are also partially available for UT, at least this was the case with Xenial. Focal is and remains a construction site with so few apps. You can definitely forget about the web apps as you can also create a bookmark in the browser. Ubuntu Touch even lacks a browser. Nevertheless, good luck that Ubuntu Touch is getting better. As a tester, a lot is still missing, especially basic 4G LTE telephony or even WLAN telephony. That's why I don't understand as a user that the development is only for OTA and the system is constantly being tinkered with. Now they are already working on 24.04, no wonder the Ubports software doesn't work reliably.

RE: WhatsApp on Ubuntu Touch?
@UBportsNews It would be time not to do so much OTA stuff, but to get VoLte, VoWifi and common apps like WhatsApp to Ubuntu Touch first. Everything else is definitely not necessary from the user's point of view if an OTA is stable. I would go even further and reserve the software channels RC and Dev for developers only. Because if you play too much with Ubuntu Touch, you will break the software faster than you use it.

RE: Bad routing in navigation apps when using OSM Scout Server Offline
@volatius You can see that I pointed them out on the Scout server. I sincerely hope that your problems will be solved with the help of the experts.

RE: Bad routing in navigation apps when using OSM Scout Server Offline
@volatius What I can possibly recommend to you is to check all the settings in the Scout Server app. I have set all the functions, including the accuracy, to 10. I have no idea what there is to adjust now. However, I somehow have the feeling that there is something wrong with the maps. Do you have a mixture of Internet and offline maps? You can also select other map providers. And yes, without a GPS signal, offline navigation doesn't work in some cases. But also try a GPS app to see if the device has a GPS signal. Please do this without Osm Scout Server and Navigator App, otherwise it will not work. If the device has GPS in the house, try the Selle Navi app, which I had tested successfully.

RE: Bad routing in navigation apps when using OSM Scout Server Offline
Hi @AppLee I probably expressed myself a bit strangely, Applee. I meant my statement about the lack of updates in relation to the complete maps. I actually downloaded Europe in full a little over 2 years ago. Don't ask me how many GB that was. Just that the makers of the Scout Server app will have noticed. I still have the map material. That means I could set up a navigator again at any time. It could even be Focal or Xenial. Yes, of course, otherwise a lot depends on the port. Every now and then a navigation system without Singal will say please turn. Otherwise yes, Ubuntu Touch is really very port-dependent, it works on device A and not on B. Topic clarified. However, in Saxony, mountains or houses can also interfere!

RE: Bad routing in navigation apps when using OSM Scout Server Offline
Possibly a GPS signal that is too weak or an update error. When I was still trying to use Ubuntu Touch, I came to the decision not to install any more updates. No, I don't know because I've already had these things. I've actually downloaded gigabytes of world maps and stuff via mobile data and only had bad experiences with stuff. Ubuntu Touch as a pure navigation system may work, but it's not yet fully developed.

RE: [Qualcomm} VoLTE call for testing
I have now installed Ubuntu Touch especially for this VoLte test. I have probably done everything wrong that can be done wrong. Installed the Ubuntu Tweak Tool because of the write permissions. Then off to the terminal and installed the system with sudo apt update&&sudo apt full-upgrade and the Ofono stuff. What can I say, suddenly there were no more SIM cards available and my WLAN data volume was used up, so that went down the drain

RE: graphical interface to make the panel transparent
I also really like something like that. Well, I doubt whether it has to be transparent when you're outside. But as a second device upstairs in the apartment, I like it very much.

RE: [Qualcomm} VoLTE call for testing
@wilfridd said in [Qualcomm} VoLTE call for testing:
VoLTE enabled on RN9P (joyeuse) too.
Despite most the issuing or receiving VoLTE calls failed, it's very promising! When calling, oFono shows 2 dials at the same time and hanging up is not possible. The callee has not call indication.
I was able to make a successful VoLTE call somehow. I could hear ringing then could talk for about 20sec and all of a sudden the call dropped itself, leaving oFono unresponsive.Congratulations on this successful VoLte attempt on Joyeuse. Exactly my device. May I ask you a question? Do you know which Android 10 version you used before you installed Ubuntu Touch (Xenial, Focal)? If you don't know anymore, no problem, at least now I have hope to get back to Ubuntu Touch at some point. If VoLte works better I think I will come back. Does it work with dual SIM or only on 1 SIM? I might have to install Ubuntu Touch again myself to test it. Only with this script or code from Mario I would definitely need help I'm not that good on the terminal

RE: Some Confusion about the install requirements
@GosuSan the Version 12.0.2.0 QJZMIXM Global Android 10 works 100% with Joyeuse!!! Please take this version. Attention it definitely depends on your region I am from Germany. It's not my fault that Xiaomi sometimes blocks versions of Android 10. The problem is then no telephony. Everything else actually works depending on your needs.

RE: Customizing Icons
There is/was definitely a great tool for Ubuntu Touch to change icons and wallpapers. I think it's called custom-phablet-tools used it a lot on Xenial!

RE: UT install process is very error prone.
@Moem I don't expect Ubuntu Touch to work. It's just about knowing what the current state of affairs is. The problem is that there aren't even any decent browsers in Focal or apps. It's the same here because the system is different. And to use Ubuntu Touch it would definitely be better to have a second device, which I don't have. But I'm not Rockefeller to buy a Volla Phone from 500€-700€, for example. Xiaomi was already much better in terms of price and hardware back then. Even after 4 years, used Xiaomi devices have become much more expensive than what I paid 120€. Current up to 180Euro.

RE: [Qualcomm} VoLTE call for testing
Interestingly, these Miatool devices also have Qualcom chipsets. However, Xiaomi and their questionable Android 10 versions wherever the difference is. Partly the telephony does not work then it is no wonder that somehow there is no porter for Miatool devices at the moment. So should work exactly like this method presented by Mario. However, I am not a porter and no longer on Ubuntu Touch.

RE: Install with ubports installer resulted in having a debug kernel
This is an interesting option with the kernel. If you install Ubuntu Touch although this is not quite compliant with the rules, you can install Twrp later at short notice. Quick question as I have already tried this myself and it worked. With this kernel on my hardware in the dev channel.kinesis-.-r2.1-4.14.343+openela-miatoll-05052024.zip. Ubuntu Touch has definitely started through you can try a lot.

RE: UT install process is very error prone.
@Keneda The alpha version does not work better definitely not. No idea what exactly the translation app has done
