    • ubuntu touch on proot

      after checking the proot-distro package in termux , i thought that maybe there is a chance to run ubuntu touch on an android device using proot and without unlocking the bootloader using termux . but i am not sure if it is possible , because in the adding a distribution page to add a distribution you must have a tarball for the distribution and the file should look like this

      DISTRO_NAME="Debian"
      TARBALL_URL['aarch64']="https://github.com/termux/proot-distro/releases/download/v1.10.1/debian-aarch64-pd-v1.10.1.tar.xz"
      TARBALL_SHA256['aarch64']="f34802fbb300b4d088a638c638683fd2bfc1c03f4b40fa4cb7d2113231401a21"

      so can i get a generic system image tarball for installation ? if yes can anyone please help me find it ? any help will be appreciated .

    • RE: advice on which device to buy

      Thanks to everyone for the advice . after thinking a lot i bought a redmi 9c because i didn't have any other options and because it is extremely cheap - like it was just 160 dollars - and i will also buy another phone with a better camera later . even though the redmi 9c has a not really good camera it has a good battery and the storage is good so maybe it is the best option for me . i will have to wait before i install ubuntu touch because the port is not very good and i am busy those 2 weeks - i am always busy - and i might even try to improve the port when i can . so i will see if it was a good option or not , and i hope it is not a bad option .
      thanks again for everything !

      @herobrine7gamer It depends on your usage - mine is very little. But fair enough. 👋

      well my usage is also little , i would use my phone to call and receive emails and read rss feeds and watching videos , but the most important thing is the camera , i can't use a phone with a bad camera at all , so i would really like a device with a great camera , but i heard that ubuntu touch has problems with camera and taking photos and videos .

    • advice on which device to buy

      i need help . i want to buy a redmi 9c , so is there anything i should consider before buying this device ? the development status of the port for the redmi 9a/9c is in the ubuntu touch devices list is still the same even after 2 months so is the port discontinued or not active anymore or unmaintained ? i really want this device as it is extremely cheap and i can afford it easily . i might get a pinephone but it's not available right now and the redmi 9c has very good specs and the performance is much better so i'm not sure . the pixel 3a is very good but i can't find it anywhere . i can't decide which device to choose . any advice ? (note that my budget is a bit small) .

    • change the ubuntu touch logo

      on 16 march 2022, canonical uploaded this blog and stated that the logo (the circle of friends) would change.

      will ubports change their logo too?
      and in lomiri the ubuntu logo should be changed too.
      and yumi also has the logo on it's body, so will it change?

    • Port to redmi 9a or redmi 9c ?

      Yesterday when i saw the redmi 9a and the redmi 9c i thought why not buy a one to try porting ubuntu touch to it , but when i searched online i only found an unofficial build of lineage os for the redmi 9a/9c/activ and the kernel source .
      Are these 2 enough to port ubuntu touch to one of them ?

      first i thought that it was a problem with
