@antidroid 1) Will this also work on an OP6? 2) I am not sure of the process. Where do I run the flash_all.sh, from my laptop terminal or from the phone? Do I need to download the files to my Linux laptop or will they be pulled in when the script is executed? Sorry I am pretty non-technical and new to all this but want to get my OP6 back to factory so i can try to install LineageOS.

RE: MMS success and failure
@rik I had created a group on my wife's phone that included my wife, her sister, and our 2 daughters. I sent a picture to them with a text message saying it was a test and asked them to reply to the message with a picture of their own. My wife's sister just replied to the group message with 3 pics and some text. It came through just fine. It seems that as long as it is in response to that same group or that group thread then it is OK.
A problem I believe this creates is that the only access to this group they have, in order for my wife to get the message, is by responding to that specific thread. I am curious, if one of them were to delete the thread and then send a message to the same members (a new thread) will my wife then receive it or will we be back to where we started? I am waiting to hear from the other recipients. Also if any one of them were to add an additional person I am not sure what will happen since they will not be in the group I established? I guess one step at a time. -
RE: MMS success and failure
@rik said in MMS success and failure:
Please confirm: did you just use "+" to add 2 recipients? If so then you just sent 2 simple SMS. To send a group MMS you need to click the "people icon" to the far right in the "to" field, then set up the group, then you can send to it. So the fact that you didn't set up the group on your sending phone makes me suspect you did not actually send a group MMS?
I didn't realize there was a difference between the To: line and the Peoples icon . After more testing, you are correct. If I add two contacts in the to-line it does work but if I use the 'peoples' icon and then add them there it does not go anywhere - no failed message-no Oops message- no nothing? I expected something....
I did create a group using the 'peoples' icon and sent a picture to them asking for a response with another picture attached if received. I will report back any response received.
I also find it odd that my 'group' is not really saved somewhere for later use like a distribution list can be in other systems. Seems like once the group message thread is gone/deleted then the group is gone and needs to be recreated for any future use.

RE: MMS success and failure
Testing: I (and my wife) continue to not get some MMS messages. We both now have OP6, both using UT, have the same carrier, and APN settings, the same as earlier detailed. 1) with my WIFI on I can not send an MMS message. It fails to send. 2) with my Wifi off I can send my wife an MMS and she can receive it. If Wifi is off the MMS comes through just fine. If her Wifi is on she gets Oops and the process described of switching Wifi off and Download retrieves the MMS successfully. 3) I created an MMS for my wife and to a secondary Google Voice # I have for myself (group message). Both of these numbers are in our contacts. With Wifi off for both of us, the MMS was sent AND received. I did not need to have a 'group' set up on either phone.
4) My wife has received Oops messages for MMS sent to her as a group message from her sister and 2 daughters. All numbers were in her contacts. These messages are not retrieving with the Downloads action. I will next set up a group with them to see if that makes a difference BUT why does my previous group MMS come through and this one does not? What are the variables? Is it because some of them use IOS or Android vs UT? Is it Carrier specific if it works well or not?
I just thought I would pass along this 'testing' to add to the confusion. I have not yet viewed any logs or wget the failed MMS. I may get there soon but previously when I did and opened the file with Seabass the file showed empty. I hope this has been helpful but my wife is very frustrated that she is not getting her pics of a new puppy, lol. -
RE: MMS success and failure
@ronbillock In addition, I did find out that this failed message was sent as part of a group message.

RE: MMS success and failure
@applee I just received a failed MMS. I shut off Wifi, waited a couple of minutes, hit Download. Nothing happened. The download button is now greyed out. I looked at the nuntium file (attached) and did wget on the HTTP (attached). I used Seabass2 to view the file created in my home directory. When I open the file (mm?T=m-6-262-2-993f40-78) though it says the file is 1.1mb, again it is blank like before.

RE: MMS success and failure
@rik I downloaded Seabass2. I have never used it before but am familiar with nano. Unless I am doing something wrong, it appears the file is completely empty. Do I have to type anything in the Seabass window to get it to read the file or should it just open up when I select it?

This is greek to me. If this says nothing, is there a way to clear the log and then I can send a message from my wife and then after it 'oops' try and get the log again?

RE: MMS success and failure
Update: I went out for a glass of wine. I decided to run a test. I turned on my wifi BUT I was not connected to wifi. I went to my two failed MMS messages. I pushed Download on one and it came through. I pushed Download on the other and the phone acted as if it received another message but the MMS did not come through. VERY odd. Also, the message that eventually came through was sent from an Android phone and the message that continued to fail was from iMessage/IOS. I have no idea how relevant any of this is but thought I would share for those that are more knowledgeable than me.

RE: MMS success and failure
@lsitongia I am not sure what that means. Did you change sim cards/carriers or settings?

RE: MMS success and failure
Hi, I am the original poster for this thread. My MMS still does not work. My APN is posted. Some posters seem to indicate this is a N. America or US issue as it works elsewhere. Some say to get the log but from the information posted that didn't seem to help the person posting it. I have 2 MMS messages within the last hour that I can not access. If I follow the steps and then push Download the phone says a new MMS message was received but the message is not there but I can again trigger the button with the same results. The phone will 'ping' and vibrate as if there is a message, which there is...oops. Between issues like this and soon losing service due to VoLTE I am not terribly excited about my efforts to leave the evil Apple empire. For now, I will continue to monitor the thread but I just wanted to say, at least for me, the issue was not resolved with whatever directions/updates provided.

MMS success and failure
I have an OP6. I am UT ver 40 RC. MMS seems to be a continuing issue, at least for me. My testing is done from an iphone using Wifi and Google Voice.
Test one) I sent a text message to my OP6 and it works every time.
Test two) I sent a photo to my OP6. Wifi was on and the picture came through. I have not been able to recreate receipt with Wifi on.
Test Three) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi was off and I received the oops message. I turned the Wifi on and after 1 minute I pushed Download and received another oops message.
Test four) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi was on and I received an oops message. I turned Wifi off, waited, hit Download, and I received the picture.
Test five) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi is off and I received the picture.
Test six) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi is on and I received the oops message. I turned Wifi off and waited at least one minute to press Download. The download button would grey for a second, turn black again, and I would receive a chime as if another message was received. I waited a while then pressed the black Download button again, holding it a bit and then my picture showed up. I do not know if the receipt was due to the first push or the 2nd push and hold.
Test seven) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi was on. oops message received. Turned Wifi off, waited and pushed Download and waited waited (good couple of minutes) and then picture was received.
Final test) I sent a picture to my OP6. Wifi was on and I received an oops message. Turned Wifi off, waited 2 minutes, pushed Download and the phone chimed but the button stayed black. I waited a minute and then pressed and held the Download button and then the picture arrived.
Last night I had two oops messages. Neither message ended up coming through no matter what was on or off.
My assessment is that the 'fix' is working most/some of the time but not fully reliable. It is better than before though. I am sure some would admit that even with the 'fix' it is not as desired. I am fine dealing with it the way it is while waiting for future upgrades unless others are also still having issues. I appreciate the work so far. My Cellular/Apn settings are set to 2G/3G/4G and APN (as described by Rik Shaw on NA Carrier Channel:

RE: Guide: SMS and MMS fixes for North America Carriers
Unbelievable! I have an OP6 and could not get MMS to work. I tried various Tello ASN settings, T-mobile settings, Wifi on/off, Roaming on/off but all failed. I then tried the settings provided in this link (https://www.usmobile.com/help/knowledge-base/configuring-your-device/) for US Mobile that @rik provided and bing-badda-boom, it works. Yes, Wifi must be off but roaming does not need to be on. Personally I think the wifi off options is unpractical but I am hoping someone will fix this eventually.

RE: Gallery not showing pics
I am considering this issue resolved. I did a full new clean install, overwriting data, using 8.9 installer. The installer errored 2 times but after selecting ignore it finished and everything so far looks like it is working as it should. The somewhat clean re-install seems to have resolved the issue.

RE: Gallery not showing pics
@bolly There is no SD card on a Oneplus 6? I can create/remove a folder on the device with no issue.
-
RE: Gallery not showing pics
@bolly I am not sure how to check that but from what I can see it appears to failing to save at all. If you give me more instruction I can verify?

RE: Gallery not showing pics
@keneda I think my folders may be part of the problem. In my Home/phablet I have a Pictures sub-folder. Home/phablet/Pictures has the photos I synced from my Nextcloud (via my laptop). Within /Pictures, along with the synced pictures are also subfolders called com.ubuntu.camera, Screenshots, and Webcam. The folder com.ubuntu.camera does have photos I took with the camera app when it was working.
A strange thing to me is that this is all duplicated in /Home/Phablets/Documents/Photos which also has all the photos I synced from nextcloud as well as the other subfolders (com.ubuntu.camera, etc...). -
RE: Gallery not showing pics
@lakotaubp My device is an OP6 and I have only used the Stable channel, native installed with Ubuntu Touch stable install.
If more channel info is desired please tell me how I find that info (I am new). It says version 2.10.9.
